Round 4 Non MFC games
New approach from the umps. The only rule that exists in this game is out on the full. This way they can't get anything wrong.

Round 4 Non MFC games
At this stage I'm not sure if they know where the game is being played anymore or even their own names.

Can we send some mental health specialists to the bigfooty Carlton game day thread. 16 pages already and quite a few people are about to self harm

I know it. Have you ever looked forward so much to what promises to be a lousy game of footy?

Left behind again - ground upgrades
"League CEO Gillon McLachlan, MCG bosses Steven Smith and Stuart Fox and Collingwood president Eddie McGuire began the conversation with the Premier" Spot the odd one out. Your questions about who runs football in Melbourne are finally answered.

Eddie won't admit to anything until they've put up his statue at the Insert Name Here Centre. And then it will only be that he deserves that statue.

It does face scrutiny. But the scrutiny gets pushback from two places. One, fanbois who shout down any criticism of Dear Leader. "Eddie single handedly saved our club from certain destruction 20 years ago. No one else could have done it then and no one else can do it now." And, "If you can't name a viable alternative candidate right now then obviously there are no viable candidates, so Eddie has to continue." And "Side by side! It's in our song so we can't possibly make any criticism, even constructive ones." Two, Eddie, who uses his media platform to assassinate and head off at the pass anyone who puts sticks their hand up. Although the last one who tried that got awarded the cushy job of conducting a review of the CFC. Brought inside the tent. I think a few before that copped some media attention (of the wrong kind) and decided it wasn't worth it. Things will have to get a lot worse there before they get better. Delicious!!! Long may it continue.

And next ... as inevitable as the sun rising ... Eddie's personal attack on Lyon. Lyon's part of a loser club ... Lyon's radio show has low ratings ... Lyon's TV show (I'm guessing he's on one somewhere) has low ratings / is boring ... or just generally a rant against Lyon. His mother wears army boots, maybe. Eddie can't help himself.

Genius holds melting plastic over his socks-clad feet. He deserves to barrack for St Kilda. At least a Pies fan would never do that. They're scared of fire.

Also let's have our game be a cracker like last year (but with a nicer newer and smarter outcome). And theirs a dull low-skilled slog fest leaving everyone frustrated and dissatisfied. Maybe a draw so none of them can take anything from it.

New Umpire and Tribunal Regimes: Hocking and Christian
Well, you do understand it's done on a points system? "Name" player = 1 point "Good bloke" = 2 points Finals series = 3 points Fairy tale ending = 4 points That's why Cotchin got off last year. 10 point jackpot! This week, Rance scored 3 points. Look that up on the secret chart kept under lock and key at AFL headquarters and you'll find it gets you off every time. On the merits.

Golden Era of Ruckmen?
Late 70's had (off the top of my head) Mike Fitzpatrick, Peter Moore, Simon Madden, Ron Alexander, Ian Hampshire, Rod Blake, Don Scott, Gary Baker, Gary Dempsey, Mark Lee, Barry Round. Not all superstars but some big names and plenty of quality.

Oh, Eddie's just establishing his working man credentials. You know he was born in Broadie? And he ever remains, a Toorak resident Broadie boy. He's just quoting John Lennon, another hero of the working masses and enemy of Big Everything. Just like Eddie with his Lexus Centre. Ok, maybe not that. How about his Westpac Centre? Wait, scratch that. His Holden Centre? Holden, car of the working masses. That's it! I've heard whispers from C'wood supporters that supporter functions are increasingly for the "Legends" and other high paying members, and the run of the mill supporter feels forgotten about. Ha ha! Jewellery rattling! Good one. Some leisure time reading material about this hero of the downtrodden: Eddie McGuire’s latest $12 million Toorak purchase Eddie McGuire has a net worth of $55 million Eddie McGuire has scored a $10 million cliff-top base in Portsea So Eddie, Broadie Boy, we'll rattle our jewellery. If we all band together, maybe the noise will drown out that of your jewellery.

Gawn: How Jones Saved Me
This is one reason why we HAVE to make finals. Nathan deserves finals. It's like Robbie in '87. Can we let this guy finish his career without experiencing the glory he has earned? (Yes I know he played in 2 early on ... 1906 from memory?)
