He's a very solid ground ball player too.
And he holds his own against bigger bodies

I hope the coaching group use the next 3 months to analyse every game this year - we had across our 25 games:
14 wins where we had more scoring shots than our opposition
6 losses where we had more scoring shots than our opposition
2 wins where we had less scoring shots than our opposition
3 losses where we had less scoring shots than our opposition
Despite the fact we're the most frustrating team to support, there really is some low hanging fruit there. The style of game in our early season wins was quite emphatic. More of that please.

I imagine the queue of people behind St Peter at the pearly gates would resemble a grand final crowd

Let’s see
Pies flag - nightmare hell on earth
Blue flag - see above
Brisbane flag - Zorko gets a medal
It’s an obvious choice. Go the orange.
I agree with all of this but still have a beef with the afl syndicated team and the grief we copped through the draft when they came into the competition.
My vote is for a night grand final and a massive power failure as a result of the Kiss concert at half time which will take 6 months to fix- 1

I thought the 2006 Comm Games got it right when they had him walk on water across the yarra with the torch at the opening ceremony.
Agree with the calls to name the premiership cup after him. There’s a nice synergy with the Norm Smith medal

I predict we will either win or lose and the fans will either be really happy or really sad.
Go Dees!!
Judging by most post game threads, I’m surprised you’ve gone with happy. Really happy I cannot get behind.

I reckon the AFL felt they needed to let this go “as a football act” because the next cab off the rank will be a player getting knocked out when an opponent takes a hanger on him and knees him in the head. Then the hanger is outlawed based on this precedent, and then it’s a slippery slope to killing the game entirely.

Sounds remarkably like the current AFL media. Kane Cornes basically inferring that unless you've played the game you have no idea what you are talking about when you comment about this. Which made it nice to hear Gerard Whately's comments this morning where he pointed out Dermie's take on the matter.
How dare Whately have an opinion on this, given he hasn't played the game. /sarcasm.
But it's a spot on opinion.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them stoop so low as to claim the 'severity' is due to Gus' prior concussions rather than the bump.
That opens a can of worms. The end consequence of this argument is that no players with past concussions will be allowed to take the field. That way the impact can be graded equally across the competition. As this isn't currently the case, impact has to be graded based on the impact to the player who was deemed fit by the AFL to play.

The week off helps, with only five teams – Brisbane in 2003, Sydney in 2005, West Coast in 2006, Hawthorn in 2015 and Richmond in 2020 – losing qualifying finals, then winning the flag
it can be done and has been done. We're still a tough proposition for Carlton and Brisbane (if they win their QF). We have the grit and resilience to stay in those games and win.
I just don't know if we can kick a score to win. where are the goals going to come from?
You should also include the doggies in 2026 who won and had to play 4 finals

Really flat after that one. We won’t win many/any games with a first half like that. Great attitude to not drop the head in the second half. Got a mountain to climb now, but if anyone can do it, we can.

What I wouldn’t give for a repeat of our form line in the 2021 finals series.

Not that he’ll play, but I reckon Grundy would absolutely [censored] his guts out to beat the pies.

I came here to read a thread about a potential FA and it’s fair to say this thread has taken a sharp left hand turn

The train hurts us becuase it negates the impact of our most impactful player - maxy.
Hopefully Max isn't catching the train to the game.

Yeah nah, can’t see the Club signing off on that. Waaaay too inflammatory for the delicate sensibilities of your average Dees supporter. “Be afraid, be very afraid” (last week’s banner) is about as menacing as we’d get. Cut to 8pm tonight and I’m posting sneak peeks of this week’s banner which says “And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead” 🤣
*That’s the name of a band so there’d be copyright issues, for one.
Shame, it's got a nice ring to it.
