  1. Let's work through this - you buy six reserved seats, all in your name?
  2. That last sentence contains an interesting idea. The name of the group is easy, the DemonLANDers. According to the historical Financial Reports our President has been a member of the Facilities working group since 2016 and became Chair of the Facilities working group in 2019. The President would have to delegate DemonLANDers with some authority to get cracking on 58er's idea. Let's go DemonLANDers.
  3. I agree wholeheartedly - you don't always have your best 23 to choose from. I reckon you can lock in another Casey flag at the very least! Good to hear that Ben Brown is doing the match sims - there were toughts that he wouldn't be doing that sort of stuff until January. Rarely in a December do we seem to have so many forward options. And Petty can stay down back - and be our rock for 10 years!
  4. If 66,484 at the end of last year is the comparable number - you will need to change the thread to Products Tally.... At end of July 2022 we had 59,700 individual members. Happy for you and the Club to keep using the higher number (because the other Clubs probably do the same). Just the thread name isn't correct.....
  5. The training facility is certainly taking care of itself - by not existing.....
  6. Bursty. Looks like a creative agency - advertising services.
  7. My understanding is that there are a few Demonlanders out there who were involved when the Constitution was last changed - 15 years ago? They speak proudly about the wide consultation that was undertaken to garner views at that time. I hope they can share those experiences on here for you. As a result of those efforts apparently less than 10 members voted against the changes. This MFC Working Group stated that the primary reason for the Constitutional change was to bring in electronic voting. It seems they decided there were a handful of changes they couldn't ignore (e.g. term limits) and then said 'here it is' to members in a clunky survey with a tight deadline which dispapeared into the ether after you had responded. There were numerous matters the changes didn't deal with - as the Deemocracy group pointed out in a submission to the Board and a contemporary re-draft. The Virtual Town Hall lasted 45 minutes and was a one-way webinar style scripted event - again talking only about what the Board wanted to change. The SGM got deferred, but no more consultation - just some drafting changes required you understand. Re the Court case I suggest you read the judgement when it is published and Demonlanders can read it (and the transcripts) for themselves. Seems like Peter Ryan of the Age sat through it? Hopefully we can then determine what motivations were at play - both those of Lawrence and the MFC decision-makers who wanted to fight what seemed to have been an unwinnable case, with our money.
  8. Good point made about decision-making. It might be worth asking who at the Club made the decision not to avoid any privacy issues by putting out this Deemocracy alternative view when the SGM was called - it seemed to be quite a considered view. Then who at the Club made the decision to fight an unwinnable case on addresses, and protract the fight - with members' money. At least it seems he was using his own resources.
  9. It's the law, has been for some time. Another pesky inconvenience that. Suggest you read the Supreme Court decision when it is published.
  10. Provided it is not to be used for an improper purpose, any member can inspect and request a copy of the Register of Members.
  11. Happy to keep providing facts to Demonlanders: Re Director Elections - Election Rule 9C(i) C. Cannot give an interview that is transmitted to the general public by way of the media, including radio, television, blog or vlog; D. Cannot post to a website or to a social media platform material that can be viewed by the public; E. Cannot send hard copy or eelctronic communications to persons in circumstances that does not satisfy Rule 9 (d((ii) - the exception to this final rule is quite long - and is on the Club website.
  12. You didn't want to address the point on the Election Rules. So it seems you are OK with the Board changing Election Rules depending upon what type of 'characters' nominate. Doesn't seem like a fair or open process? I have an idea you might support - why don't we make one more change to the Constitution to say that the Board shall elect the Board each year, and we can do away with these pesky elections.
  13. LinkedIn suggests that our President is CEO - Melbourne Sports Centres (MSAC) - Full Time.
  14. Speaking of rules and fainess. The MFC's Third set of Election Rules (there were two sets the year before) were issued immediately prior to the one-week Director nomination period opened at the end of November 2021. Candidates apply. Then a Fourth set of Election Rules are issued in January 2022. Nice to have 'absolute discretion' as to how elections are run.
  15. Love it Katrina! They're an amazing bunch! Let's get to Springfield and bring home the prize.
  16. The current MFC Election Rules (we have had four different versions in the last two years) state that Candidates are not permitted to engage in electioneering. No interview to be transmitted to the general public. No posting to a website or to a social media platform. The rest of the rules are on the Club website - Club > Governance > Elections. Does that lead to a fair and open election?
  17. Gabba to Springfield 28 kms. MCG to Casey 51 kms.
  18. It was just $2 mil through MOPT for Gosch's actually. MFC Club 11 donors put in $500k and the AFL $500k.
  19. As they say in the classics 'Let's start at the beginning'. The MFC Company Secretary in his affidavit last month before the Victorian Supreme Court said "there are approximately 59,700 MFC members (this differs from the number of 66,484 published on the AFL website due to several individuals holding multiple memberships)"
  20. Chapter 12 re The Demon Alternative resonated, particularly given the current initiative to change our Constitution, which has now been postponed until October 2022. 'The Melbourne Football Club has been handed a peace plan but is too pig-headed and proud to see it'. And in Chapter 13 'No one who understood footy would ever call for an extraordinary general meeting in the middle of the year'. Indeed.
