The last thing a player needs is to make the hard choice mid-season and let it hang over their conscience any longer than is neccessary. They want the announcement out of the way quickly and succinctly. There is no point dragging an entire club through the mud as reputation remains at stake. Ward and the Bulldogs parted ways before lunch. The club knows this: Scully prefers to stay and told Velocity Sports to refrain from divulging any $$$ figures associated with both contract offers from Melbourne and GWS until the conclusion of the H&A season. It's encouraging but has a twist. Loyalty and family factors might cease to exist once Tom discovers the GWS money tree. I sense this is where the media expect Tom to put ink to paper, and why Robbo thinks it will happen later this week.

That's what he said? "This week with Scully I'm sure." Did he elaborate? That was most unconvincing. All of the scribes are basing this on a hunch, and they are swelling with confidence (read: sheer bloody arrogance) thanks to their clean sweep on the Gold Coast rumours last season.

Every hour that ticks by with no news is telling. The kid prefers to stay. Always has. But no man is stupid as to blatantly ignore an organisation offering a blank cheque for you to perform the same job elsewhere.

If Ratten is dismissed for a 14-win season because he failed to win in September, Malthouse won't step a foot near Princes Park.

ENERGY WATCH = $6 Million sponsorship
Deers replied to Chicken Deelicious's topic in Melbourne Demons
Despite the on-field crisis overshadowing their reputation, I firmly believe that the MelbourneFC's business sector includes some of the cleverest individuals making up one of, if not the best administrative and marketing operations in the AFL. -
The hysteria is consuming us. It's frightening. I think a few need to have a little faith in the club.

Shh. Let him go ahead with his ideas. I would seek out 0 players because going for anything U23 would usually ask for something hefty in return, and likely to be picks, which we are not trading away. Seek draft picks? Late 1st rounders should be the go.
-
Hmm. Would you like to try again?

Mike Sheahan writes what everyone wants to hear. He's just a substandard writer going by the book day in, day out. Yes, writing what everyone wants to hear indeed sells more papers but end of the day, personally, he's trailor trash.

It could be that Prendergast does in fact believe Watts is the best available when you weigh everything into consideration. Watts has an excellent added ability of his versatility to push into the midfield and link on-ballers towards the forward 50. That's dynamite! But Rich can [censored] the ball 50, 60 metres, which effectively will create goal opportunities and the sausage rolls themselves. It will be very tough.

I cannot believe this GC17 board is keeping up with the stereotype for their club. It's going to be laughable! Free bottles of fake tan handed to fans at the gate? I just hope they can play some footy FFS.

Jack Watts fits the criteria for us. Neitz left the gaping hole of enormous presence in that forward line and we need it back. But for ability and immediate results, Daniel Rich blows him and NikNat out of the water. He would be very hard to overlook and Watts will not nominate for the draft if he knows he will not go #1 to us. The response among the club will be electrifying because he will be ready-made stardom from the early rounds. KPP power forward at 17/19 or use the trade. Best player available should be drafted though.

Yeah - same here.

Mildly disappointed that we did not push for Jude Bolton any further. However we should learn anything else in the next 5-10 minutes.

I am not needed in the side anymore? That's cool. For the record, 191cm 76kg, bit of speed and endurance. Run off the half back line is my superiority.

G'day folks! Guess who broke it again?! :D

Carlton have blown their chances. Dick Pratt's public comments about not hesitating to make Judd captain and the rest of his diatribe was absolutely atrocious. The fact that Carlton will not be successful for a few more years, the fact that Judd will want to be playing at the MCG ... it all adds up. Don't waste your breath. Two clubs remain and it isn't Carlton.

I leave you with these thoughts as I say farewell for the evening
Deers replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
From the words of this idiot who is still pounding the keyboard at 10:30pm on a Sunday night, wondering if there are any more clues ... goodnight and good riddance we are almost over this! -
Exactly. As I have already mentioned to you, the club that Chris Judd will play for in 2008 could be undecided until the trade week, and may have nothing to do with his decision of club preference.

When Tim finally recharges the batteries, I am checking out and on the first flight home.

Late plunge? Somebody call again and ask for a market and the prices of Collingwood and Melbourne.

Ouch! I felt sick reading that the Filth had firmed ... then Hannabal drops a bombshell. Thanks H! PS. PM me if you would like about today's happenings.

Funny guy. Drugs come with the CV of being a professional athlete. But don't tell administration!

Have a relaxing Sunday folks. As far as tomorrow is concerned, SEN is blaring all day and this, BigFooty (sigh), this, Sportal are on refresh loop every 10 minutes and I'll be taking a Panadol each hour to ease the headache.

Here we go! Another kid just finished batting off at BigFooty and came up with a trade which inevitably involves Richmond and West Coast, in which we lose Pick 4, 21 and Brock McLean and gain Chris Judd with ... Jay Schulz. Somebody said he's been on the turps, I just reckon he didn't water down his raspberry cordial enough.
