Welcome to Demonland Kynan Brown
- Farewell Brodie Grundy
I'm also confused by Goodwins presser yesterday. He stated that they have been really happy with Gawns progress in the forward line and could see this as something that could be used more often down the track. Checks notes and see that Gawn hasn't kicked a goal since round 12 against Sydney... Goody is a funny bugger. ...- Todd Viney to North Melbourne?
Article in the Sun by Jay Clark stating the Todd Viney is tipped to becoming Clarko's right hand man in a Neil Balme type role at the club. Supposedly Clarko is putting the feelers out to get a working crew behind him for the job. In the same article it also states that according to industry figures, there's strong talk that Adem Yze will be the man for the GWS job.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
Why so that in 2-3 years time we completely fall off the cliff because both our ruckman are banged up and probably retired with no up and coming ruckman coming through and no talent as well because we spent that first round pick on a 29 old ruckman with injury problems. Read a few posts above. To have sustain success you need to have a good balance of senior experience and breed of new wave of talent coming through. As it currently stands, we haven't bred any new talent this year. At least by the time Gawn is ready to retire we'll have a Meek/Flynn ready to take on the number role full time as they should then be at the peak of their career. Not only this, we also saving potentially 700k in the bank. This money could be partially used towards guys like a Kozzie Pickett who come out of contract next year or a genuine key forward that is a much greater need.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
There is other alternatives in bringing in a ruckman without breaking the bank and coughing up a 1st rounder.. you do realise that right? Cheaper options like Lloyd Meek, Matt Flynn, Sam Hayes have all shown they are capable of holding down the main rucking role when given the opportunity. All 3 are now mature enough with several years under their belt at AFL level.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
For me we shouldn't be giving up a first round pick for a 29 year old ruckman. Regardless of who pays how much portion of the salary. That's just silly, especially coming off some significant injury concerns.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
I'd rather years of sustained success, not 3 years and then a significant drop off the cliff. You need s good balance of bringing in key players that can certainly help straight away but a breed of new talent as well.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
My concern I have with the whole Grundy saga is what draft capital we have to give up? Jay Clark on triple M stated that the two first rounders we'll get from Freo which he thinks we'll be in the teens, one we'll go to Collingwood for Collingwood. If this is the case then we're making a huge mistake giving away a first round pick for a ruckman who's going to be 29 next year.- CHANGES: Rd 22 vs Carlton
You're going to get these kind of inconsistencies in all young key forwards.. In fact Jamarra has kicked 17 goals from 14 games. Johnson 10 goals from 4 games. That to me shows they're so far this year they're showing some good consistency in their games.- CHANGES: Rd 22 vs Carlton
And the few attempts they get it so happen to be against one of the best defence in the league. You're under selling Jamarra's performance. Kid has just turned 20, in his 2nd year of AFL and kicked 5 against Tonlinson/Petty. The growth in Ugle Hagan is enormous.- Why no KPF wants to come to the MFC?
Unfortunately not mate, just pinning my hopes on what was said on here.- Why no KPF wants to come to the MFC?
Aaron Naughton wants to come to us??- Farewell Brodie Grundy
I would think the fact he's actually gone out of his way to wanting to sit down and chat points that he's opened to the thought or playing with us.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
- New Deals for Moniz-Wakefield, McVee & D. Smith
Max Gawn talked up Moniz Wakefield big time on Gus and Gawny. The vibe I got from Gawn was out of the trio signed up, Moniz Wakefield was the one he was most excited about.- JAKE BOWEY APPRECIATION THREAD.
I'd easily have Bowey back. But I'd rather him playing his natural position we drafted him for and that was that half forward/wing role.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
Hard to judge considering he actually barely played there when he was at Collingwood due to being the number 1 ruckman. But going off these small highlights it certainly shows he is more then capable of doing some damage up forward with his contested marking. Clean grabs and and a far more accurate kick for goal then Gawn.- Farewell Luke Jackson
No they genuinely need a ruck.- Patrick Cripps FREE to play
- Farewell Brodie Grundy
Jackson he did kick 16 goals last year in just his 2nd year of AFL footy. That's more then Grundy ever has in any season.- Farewell Luke Jackson
