  1. We’re at an interesting stage as a side, seem to be able to handle the weaker sides pretty comfortably now, but struggle when a more experienced side really brings the pressure and tackling. Signs of maturity at least we can put away teams we are meant to beat (finally!) We looked powerful after half time even though I acknowledge Essendon were bad. St Kilda will be more challenging as they have bigger bodies in the midfield to go up against our guys: the Bombers are very light on in this area.

Footy in general is struggling this is about the 5th rubbish match I’ve seen in a row

Joe is in. I reckon we will win today looking forward to the match, TMac makes a big difference structurally.
  4. I'm so rusted on I'm actually less stressed sitting at the game watching the boys then I am checking the scores while attempting to concentrate on something else. Been to so many losses over the last 20 years you kind of get (partially) immune to it, even though Collingwood last year was probably the worst I've ever felt at the footy and for ages after. I'm too scared to not go because that's exactly when we'll have a ripper win!
  5. Yep me too....we're been bad for 12 years why would yet another loss make me throw in the towel at this point! At least we're just ordinary now - we used to be appalling!
  6. Melbourne will win easily...Essendon are worse than North and Brisbane
  7. Ive been in the Redlegs for a long time (19 years) and it always annoys me to see opposition supporters in there. There are plenty of seats around the stadium where supporters of different sides can sit together - for home games level 2 half forward flank should be for hardcore MELBOURNE supporters only! Closing our home facilities for corporate crap is not on either. We only get 9 home games at the G anyway with the 2 sold to NT, so give the premium members something, gee....
  8. I don’t know who’s worse us or Essendon

Shocking game of footy, we don’t look likely to kick more than about 2 more goals at best

What’s this Neeld style bomb down the line to a pack garbage?

Gee we are playing a messy, unstructured game style no wonder we can’t score

We are so unpredictable we could win by 50 or lose by 80 and everything in between
  13. Yep. A mate of mine who thought we were certainties before the match texted me with "wtf?" during the last quarter. My reply? "Classic Melbourne"
  14. Are we ever going to be consistently any good?
  15. He also shoved MacMillian over when he was limping: nasty, we need more of it!
  16. True, we hadn’t really worked out how to use TMac and Pedo in the ruck with Gawn out a week or two before, McEvoy had about 50 hitouts. Should be a very different story on Sunday.
  17. Can't understand why a few posters are writing us off against Hawthorn before the game even starts! They're not that good anymore, apart from Tom Mitchell their midfield is pretty ordinary and they have a slow backline. As long as we don't let them take 100 uncontested marks and play keepings off we will win. Frawley is still a turnover merchant too.
  18. I reckon they're a bit light on in the midfield compared to us, apart from Mitchell, O'meara is still working his way back into form after so long and then you've got C graders like Shiels, Langford and Duryea - not exactly intimidating! Provided we stop Mitchell from getting completely off the leash we should have a significant edge there.
  19. Not many teams could leave players the calibre of Brayshaw, Hunt and Hannan in the reserves when they still had 2 of their best 10 out. (I say that now of course until the next stinker when we call for half the team to be dropped)
  20. Gawn Viney Oliver Petracca thats a ridiculously talented A grade center square unit when Jack comes back in
  21. They were saying on the radio Jetta has some knee tendinitis that needs to be managed, he certainly did look sore at times today
  22. I thought we were certainties the last 2 times and we royally stuffed it up. This time I'm not so sure, maybe that's a good sign!
  23. Apparently Geelong and Collingwood are close to selling off all their pokies too...I assume there is a strong business reason for this, and it's more than just for the "optics"? I'm not particularly happy or unhappy we've made the decision to exit the gaming industry, I'm not much of a gambler myself and see the machines as a complete waste of time, but hey it's legal, if that's how you choose to spend your time and money go for it. You'd trust the finance guys have done the sums and agreed that this is the best way forward and the benefits of selling off the pokies venue will far outweigh the costs.
