I know this sounds odd….
and appears completely out of the blue…..
but I’m the proudest I’ve ever been as a member, and I’m excited with the direction my footy club is heading.
....just had to let you know.....
Bring on the next 5 years I say!
Apart from promises and plans ( none of which have come to fruition ) and a coach advocating youth (because of a poor senior list ) what is there to be proud about ?
I love the club , and I love the colours , and I love the history , but I see nothing yet to suggest that we are on any sort of road to recovery on any level ; please explain your seemingly baseless remark .

No byline and it's unlikely it was the same author. Still, it's unusual for there to be such a stinging attack on a player in one part of the paper and an endorsement of the same player among his team's best in the same publication. It just goes to show that, as a game, football is funny game and so is the media.
My bugbear has to do with the voting by media 'experts ' who are influenced by final quarter heroics by the winning team , and ignore the earlier quarters where the losing team's players may have dominated , along with the team .

Bartram - still finding way
Bate - wonderful second half
Bell - still in dreamland
Bruce - true captain's game
Carroll - played little part

Jamar - responded to responsibility
Jones - uncharacteristically quiet game
McDonald - never stopped running
McLean - continued to excell
Miller - finally a leader
Moloney - continued excellent form
Morton - some important touches
Rivers - some creative interceptions
Robertson - inspiring last quarter
Warnock - surprised us all
Wheatley - continually outstanding kicking
White - just a game
Wonaeamirri - vitality and inspiration

In the inimitable words of Jan-Michael Vincent from Big Wednesday, "you old fart".
and proud of my farts .

I saw a casually attired and dishevelled McNamee early this morning , about 10 David Neitz drop punts from the courts at Kooyong where he originally made his name , and I hope he'll be wearing a suit and working on his appearance before speaking to a marquee player , 'cos it wasn't a good look .
BTW ,I am always well attired and groomed , even in the early hours .
-
Meh, give the baby his dummy, then sit back and laugh at him for another couple of weeks, it's all about stroking the ego
It may very well be , BUT he's probably right when we talk about QUALITY of possessions .
-
Must politely disagree sir.
He has continued to prove when he plays at MFC he is not good enough.
Unlike ( insert a name )
-
Give him a crack at full forward with the license to break open packs for Aussie and a lethargic Davey .
He's being paid , his Sandy form ( when not injured ) has been exceptional ,so he deserves his chance even if he is ancient .
Many may argue that he's not the future of the club , but either are McDonald, Robertson , White , Jamar , etc, etc ,etc . They are getting regular games whether they deserve them or not , and at least Holland gives us a chance to be competitive up forward with his Tarzan- like build .

Very UNJUST assessment of Cameron Bruce. 33 possessions plus 5 effective tackles deserves more than your sarcastic rating. Green comment also stupid and unwarranted. You had a dirty day Joeboy. Normally you make reasonably sensible and fair comments. I guess if the players can be out of sorts so can the posters. Keep trying.
A little unfair on me I believe .
If you check my next post ( Votes )I gave Bruce second top marks , and Green 4th best .

Jones has gone backwards this year , but I guess he's not Robinson Crusoe , and McLean has obviously dropped in the pecking order due to his indiscretions
Junior and Bruce were the obvious ( and only ) candidates IMO.

I watched the game on sunday and saw sylvia get outmarked twice at least. And he was way bigger than the carlton guy.
He doesnt seem like he's got the fire to get the ball. Same as laying hip and shoulders, just not inspired to go the extra mile.
Which Carlton guy was he " way bigger than " ? The guy must have been a midget !

At the news conference just held Bails said no one has been promoted and they might not prmote anyone.
Fark me he is a hard man. I would of thought Valsa was a monty to come up.
He said Valsa has been showing some alright form but needs to show more form before he will be put. Making him really work for it. I hope it spurs him on to work even harder and earn a spot.
Bailey stated that there were others ( already ) on the list that would likely be tried before Valenti , and that he ( Valenti ) would have to continue to prove himself before promotion .

10 News just reported news of a mystery neck injury likely to keep our skipper out for some time , thus forcing the decision that the coaching panel seemed unwilling to make .

Should we put all our eggs into 1 basket and go for broke , or just go broke ?
-
We were. I read with disappointment before the game that White and Jamar were selected to play but I didnt see them.
....and Bell made 3 , so we only had 19 on the team sheet !
-

To be honest, I work in the advertising and communications industy and I think its a little lame and uninspiring, considering how crucial this time is for the club.
Well if you work in the industry , how would you have approached it ?
-
I miss the players that Neitz and the Ox were in their prime .
-
First time I have heard it.....not sure if others have, but Barass urging supporters to get on board.
Finished off the ad with "If it is to be, it's up to US!"
Good to hear a legend flying the flag for the club.........thanks Barass, I'm going to get on to:
www.melbournefc.com.au
and buy a membership for my 7 month old daughter!
Yes I heard it this morning , and was pleasantly surprised.
