  1. Joeboy, I love your work.... but Jeeeesus. Jamar shouldn't go above 2 in any way, shape or form. He's played 1 game in which he took a handful of marks, and got a heap of taps that amounted to nothing. If I was Sylvia, Warnock, Moloney or Green I'd be very hurt that you consider him in their league...

Other than that, I didn't see any other glaring errors at first view. Particularly like that you maintain Davey is our number #1 so far this year. Which he still is despite two quiet weeks. He's really figured out how to maintain some consistent footy when tagged, and when he's not finding it easily. In days gone by he'd vanish completely. His example is going to be, hopefully, what the younger guys want to emulate.

I'm glad you love my work , but I don't fathom how you can be critical of Jamar because we have a below average on ball brigade . He can only palm the ball in their direction , which he succeeds in doing admirably - the rest is up to them .

    Enough said .

  2. High distinction? In terms of what? Jamar, has tried hard, but has played 2 games!

What is it that you have against Grimes? He's certainly played better than Brock the last few weeks, let alone Meesen, Rivers and Bennell.

Jamar has been terrific despite a very limited preparation . His tapwork is outstanding and he's moving around the field extremely well .

He was easily our best against StKilda , and he easily outpointed Fraser yesterday . What else do you want him to do ?

  4. Joe boy I have to seriously ask, has McLean ever played a good game in your book?

I think he was ok today in a awful side, I would not have said poor getting worse.

I really think you do not like him and will never say he played anything but poor.

From memory I think he has only played 1 very good game this year , and in a team that is crying out for senior leaders this is inexcusable from one who is regarded as our incumbent captain .

    I don't dislike him , I just think he's having a very poor season.

  5. Don't follow the example of your senior team-mates?

Seriously, what was the lesson? I thought he was fantastic. His composure, hardness, skills and courage were impressive.

I have no qualms with his attitude , ability , skills or looks ; my concern was that all of his opponents throughout the day kicked many goals on him .

Thus he was taught a lesson !

  6. Bate - a major underachiever

    Bell - lacks spacial awareness

    Bruce - tried but failed

    Cheney - kept at task

    Davey - demands are overwhelming

    Frawley - tough and focused

    Green - a quiet game

    Grimes - was taught lesson

    Jamar - superb with tapouts

    Johnson - some incomprehensible errors

    Jones - constantly poor disposal

    Maric - game to forget

    McDonald - had few possessions

    McLean - poor, getting worse

    Moloney - was barely sighted

    Morton - had no presence

    Rivers - kept at task

    Robertson - well past prime

    Sylvia - oustanding allround game

    Warnock - just a game

    Watts - no Messiah today

    Whelan - brave but loose

    ROUND 10 0.0 - 3.3 Loss 21 points, Loss 37 points

    Percentage - 54.78

Won one quarter - 1.3 to 1.1 against the Crows.

This needs to be improved and hopefully will as we increase our fitness.

Good statistics , but poor summation .

FITNESS is certainly not the problem ,as exemplified by the astonishing statistic that we have outscored the opposition in 6 out of 10 final quarters this year , and had we kicked accurately yesterday it would have been 7 out of 10 .

  8. Bate - 5 minute impact

    Bell - failed to impress

    Bennell - creative but mistakeridden

    Bruce - numerous costly turnovers

    Davey - had no impact

    Frawley - attitude and endeavour

    Green - solid but unspectacular

    Grimes - calm and confident

    Jamar - an outstanding return

    Johnson - not a rover

    Jones - had little influence

    Maric - 2 good quarters

    Martin - had no idea

    McDonald - couldn't hurt opposition

    McLean - many ineffective possessions

    Miller - needs a rest

    Moloney - terrific in close

    Morton - poor decision making

    Rivers - reliable as usual

    Sylvia - failed to repeat

    Warnock - excellent under pressure

    Whelan - going through paces

  9. Bate - not enough impact

    Bennell - taught a lesson

    Bruce - a steady game

    Davey - seemed greatly underused

    Frawley - steadied after horrors

    Green - reliable and steady

    Grimes - seemed completely lost

    Johnson - continues to impress

    Jones - needs a rest

    Maric - excellent first half

    Martin - must be settled

    McDonald - doesn't hurt opponents

    McLean - lacks effective disposal

    Miller - unfortunately no alternative

    Moloney - unusually quiet game

    Morton - disposal was amateurish

    Petterd - can't justify retention

    Rivers - quiet but effective

    Robertson - selfish and undisciplined

    Sylvia - career best performance

    Warnock - stuck at task

    Whelan - lost in mire

  10. Also:

    Hawthorn

B: Brendan Whitecross, Thomas Murphy, Brent Guerra

HB: Beau Dowler, Campbell Brown, Grant Birchall

C: Jordan Lewis, Sam Mitchell, Beau Muston

HF: Mark Williams, Lance Franklin, Michael Osborne

F: Cyril Rioli, Jarryd Roughead, Garry Moss

Foll: Simon Taylor, Brad Sewell, Chance Bateman

I/C: Robert Campbell, Cameron Stokes, Ben McGlynn, Jarryd Morton

Emg: Stuart Dew, Brent Renouf, Travis Tuck

    In: Muston, Stokes

    Out: Stuart Dew, Travis Tuck

    New: Beau Muston (Murray U18)

Dew dropped for disciplinary reasons - probably lost weight against coach's orders .

  11. Momentum may ultimately create a snowballing success of victories , which MAY still get us into the lower echelons of the 8 this year , such is the evenness of the competition , however the alternative of many honourable losses will obviously lead to frustration but the sought after draft picks .

I don't think the answer is as obvious as first thought , bearing in mind that if we somehow gain the momentum that leads us to the finals , we will obviously have been good enough to be deservedly there , and thereby not without a chance .

    What do you desire ?

  12. Why would u leave with 12 mins to go when u live 10 mins from the ground? We were still in it... right til the very end. In all likeliness, had the game gone for 5 more mins we probably would have got up.

    Weak effort joeboy. :o

I had to go to the toilet ! .

What's it any of your business why I leave the game early ?

  13. dude, how the hell can you make comments on the game if you didn't even go? you posted at 4.44pm..the game finished at 4.45pm.

Hey Frock , I live 10 minutes from the ground and can assure you that I was at the game . I do admit however that I left with 12 minutes to go , precisely when Davey lobbed the ball right into Aker's lap in front of goal .

Thank you , however , for paying so much attention to my movements .

Can you please tell me which of my comments show that I have no idea about football , whilst you , on the other hand , are all knowing ?

  14. I very much doubt when we have the likes of Garland, Frawley and Rivers back in our team, that Grimes would have a matchup with the other teams best small forwards.

Even so, there have been players with much more than 2 games experience who have been torched by those players.

    I agree .

I am not denigrating the boy - he has a great future , but he WAS torched today . [censored] happens .

  15. Totally wrong on Grimes - he had a great game - only his third, yet he looks like he's played 100. His kicking was perfect and displayed excellent decision making under pressure. Thought Maric was pretty good as well today.

Murphy had 7 kicks on him in the first quarter and Akermanis kicked most of his goals on him too !

It WAS a game to forget .
