He is very slow , but made up for it in rounds 2-5 with quick ball movement , enabled by a lack of pressure from the opposition .
He was found out against 2 teams who applied non-stop pressure in rounds 1 and 6.
-
Excellent changes IMO .
Johnson is a very agile and multi-faceted tall man who is in fine form ( for Casey ) and provides far greater flexibility than Martin .
Hughes has shown excellent form for Casey and provides an x factor with his strong marking for a shortish forward .
McKenzie's return gives us back grunt and strong tackling that was missing last week .

I started reading this thread and thought that Joeboy's 3 word analysis had turned to crap, i then looked up and realized he didnt even start this rip off thread.
Lay off his turf!!
Thanks Tess - if it happens again I'll sue ( removes tongue from cheek )

Was the free kick paid against Jack Grimes in front of goal in the third quarter, for holding the ball, the worst decision ever, or just this year?

It's been a pleasant change has it not?
Not at all . He is so passionate about the club and bleeds for it . Why are we better off without hearing from him ?
-
Some older Demonlanders may see in Bail , what I regard as an amazing likeness to a former Demon great in Andrew Obst with his long -striding movements , sure ball -handling , and boyish good looks .
-
Grimes - invisible but effective
Thanks , now rectified
-

Great tackle on Dangerfield. Unfortunate that he was injured, but we're not talking about some kind of run down tackle that results in a face-plant, we're talking about agressive intent at the ball carrier with an unfortunate result.
Completely endorse the actions of the boys and hope to see plenty more of it in the future.
All the best to Dangerfield from me as well, wish him well.
It was pure luck for everyone concerned that Dangerfield escaped with relatively minor injuries .
The tackle was not illegal but the consequences could have been so much more dire but for luck and a fit body .

This is the first time you've put in positive 3-worders for every player. Except maybe Petterd...

Col Garland is playing against the Crows today. The big question is at who's expense?
Spencer played for Casey yesterday
-
Actually after viewing the replay I have changed my opinion on Bruce's game. I actually think he played exceedingly well in an unfamiliar role against taller and stronger opponents .
He obviously made 1 or 2 glaring handling errors , but on the whole he was tight , composed , and put his body on the line on a number of occasions when required
-
I have no problem at all with a player being put under a bit of pressure and I wish we were better at it!
I was just asking what happened! Let us move on then...
I believe it may have even been from friendly fire via a Joel MacDonald swinging hand
-
I thought Jnr was good today and really helped keep swan down as well.
If Junior was on Swan , then I retract my comments unreservedly .
I did note that Swan was not a contributer , but I thought it was Bartram on him for much of the day .
-

Bate - slow and unsure
Bennell - effective forward pressure

Green - a wonderful leader
Grimes - superlatives not enough
Jamar - career best performance
Jones - losing his way

Scully - some telling clangers
Strauss - responsibility beyond capability
Trengove - some important touches
Warnock - excellent all day
McKenzie - loved his game
Newton - didn't take chance
-
Harsh on Frawley. He was under constant pressure thanks to our mid-field allowing Hawthorn mids to easily run into their forward 50.
I actually gave him votes ( admittedly by default )
My 3 word analysis was based on the overwelming memory of his performance , and his kicking was amateurish IMO !
New confidence in the Footy dept.
in Melbourne Demons

I agree with the sentiments of the thread , but I think they got it wrong yesterday by retaining Johnson, and not making a late switch for a more agile player in the conditions , like the Bulldogs did with Roughead and Hill.
