Wow!

Anyway, my award for the most outstanding physical specimen at training goes to TMac. He looks even more of a million dollars than I’ve ever seen him before. It’s such a shame that he’s nearer the end of his career than the beginning but kudos for his dedication and application.

At training this morning, and just getting a really good vibe about Culley.. he looks great and has an undeniable air of meaning business about him

Bill reminds me very much of Tom Mitchell .. hopefully with a supportive coach he can mirror the latter’s career

I attended a club event where Rivers presented confidently and eloquently, and gave me great confidence that he was our leader going forward, however his on field form since then has been very spasmodic and hardly inspiring, so I now have great reservations about his promotion to the role. At this stage there’s a great chasm within the club of leadership candidates, with those younger players mentioned here, apart from Bowey, and Kozi ( who certainly doesn’t seem like one who’d clamour for the role) being probably lucky to get regular selections in the team anyway

Yep, he’ll kick straighter when he’s not captain, duh

No lack of trying by the girls but the skill levels were abysmal . I think the easy draw so far this year has done us no favours and probably gave us all an unrealistic expectation of the team’s capabilities .

FWIW Ben Ainsworth was just interviewed on SEN and without admitting much new , acknowledged that his former teammate BH genuinely is trying to balance ‘issues’ at home with decision making over his future.

Too much water under the bridge on this site for me to check through if it’s been mentioned, but John Ralph said yesterday that there are ‘personal reasons’ for BH wanting to return to Melbourne ( the city ) and hopefully those reasons aren’t just about the money.

Sadly, the history of being unable to attract Chris Judd to our club because of far from ideal training conditions may have played its part once again.

It’s probably needed someone like our new coach to arrive on the scene with a dispassionate and unromantic view of the players, for reality to be acted upon.
