Only if there is a quick whistle blown in time for the player to make a decision. If the umpire hasn’t blown the whistle for the first free, the player has no choice but to play on because no free has been paid yet.

GET A MARKING FORWARD IN THE GOAL SQUARE WHEN WE ARE KICKING FROM 50 FFS

All depends on how late the call is, if the whistle goes after the next player has disposed of the ball or is in mid flight getting rid of it, impossible not to play on

Can anyone explain to me why we never have a marking option in the goal square when we are kicking from 50? I’ve called it about 20 times this year, but we never do it and every time the ball falls short the oppo gets an easy mark and clearing kick

Once again a late call by the ump means we play on and take the “advantage” which turns out to be the opposite of to advantage. FFS I hate that rule
