  1. (Catching up with things; great reading, everyone. Thanks!... Anyhoo...) Surprised you missed this one, @Demonstone 😁... Getting Sarong: It's a wrap? (I know the drill: Myself. Door.)
  2. Thanks GO TO; I am! AM has all the moves - more 'AFL'-like than any native Irish footy player I've seen. If she gets a right foot to go with her big and precise left (and can get our funny ball to both of them!) then... World. Oyster. Hers.
  3. ... 🎶 Lookin' Out My Back Door 🎶
  4. ...And just a thought: if he takes as many marks as we hope he will, particularly one-touch ones... 'Clunk'?
  5. "Von Royalstein, old bean. From the Continent, or one of the Dominions, I believe. Funny, though; he's put on an inch or two. And looks dapper with that head of hair now. Glad he's dropped the anonymity: 'Jones'; so obvious!"
  6. Well, hopefully his people don't originate from here, then: https://leagueofgentlemen.fandom.com/wiki/Welcome_to_Royston_Vasey
  7. Well played, Greg Stafford, btw! 😄 p.s. Nice, entertaining thread, everyone. Demonland rises to the occasion yet again!😊
  8. Goodwin's presser: reference to 'looking at transition' at training this week, 'to play to Brodie's strengths'. Also references, thankfully, to 'tinker' and 'change' and 'better', in a context of specific study and learnings from previous Swans games. The proof of those puddings, however...
  9. (c.c. @Roger Mellie) @tilly18 takes the silver! Congrats! @layzie, @Witches Hat, @WalkingCivilWar, @Demonstone, and any other secret followers, I mustn't play favourites so I need to share with you that@mo64 has surmised '...that it has something to do with the Christian names'. To which I reply, to you all, 'Not just the first names!' (Please don't hate me)
  10. Ah. Roger was correct to say the answer is AFL related: the connection is with other AFL players' names.
  11. My first reaction to this, layzie, was, 'Funny you should say seconds!' Meanwhile, though, let the world know your quizophilic persistence has just paid off in that other still-live conundrum 👏 But a bit more 'clueing': Four ' @Roger Mellie ' emergencies were named at this club's selection table on the Thursday night: Jason Johannisen, Jeremy Howe, Jarrod Molloy and Kyle Cheney. As noted, Johannisen became the medi-sub. In this expanded squad, Roger's selection of Jayden Hunt becomes unique. And in another way, I've just noticed, Roger's selection of Ed Lower is unique.
  12. Oopsies! (Though might Bombers fans be looking over their shoulders for a similar 'Second Coming' in 2115?👼...)
  13. Worse still, a good handful of South Melbourne-ites will be looking for somewhere more amenable to be. MCG?
  14. But the point if that particular analysis was, I think, that he wasn't at, or even trying to get to, where he was needed - or where his opponent was getting to? But prove me/them/all wrong Brodie!
  15. Rather damning. Doesn't look like something that a switch can be flicked on 😬
  16. Alrighty then. Sam Gravenall coached Essendon for only 12 games in 2022. Albeit from a small sample size, Sam's win/loss record is behind only Craig McCrae's, Chris Scott's and John Longmire's, of the current crop of coaches. But it is another, unique, aspect he brings that qualifies him to front @Roger Mellie's team.
  17. Still at home, KC! Nice way to start the season, back-to-back at Fortress KC 😁
  18. Cometh the footy, cometh the amnesia. But now reminded, it does feel so yesterday, Mr Stone! Still, if anyone's still interested - @WalkingCivilWar? @layzie? @Turner? - what complete set of premiership numbers would the men's premiership team contain if you put the numbers of the four replacements into it?
  19. Thanks for keeping these alive, Mr Stone 🙂. I'm tempted to clue, but @Roger Mellie should have first (and last?) go at that, I think...
  20. Bit of a soft spot for Norwood. The consistent presence of a 'Team of the Red and the Blue' on the teev in September and - with ultimate success 4 times - into the weekend after the VFL had wound up, was a sneaky consolation in our dark 70s and early 80s. Almost up with occasional MFC reserves and under 19s and Sandy Zebras successes. (Re Canberra, surely the AFL could not afford GWS's loss of that market (I use that word advisedly!...))
  21. I think the modern vernacular is, 'Well, that pivoted!'
  22. And here's another good reason to be there - Reach Round: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1292542/melbourne-and-reach-to-kick-start-change
