Interesting little side note in John Ralph's HS article on DeGoey today. Apparently the senior players at North complained that Jade was too hard on them and so he was replaced by John Blakey.

I was there. I remember leaving there thinking "bet they don't do this again". I'm just commenting on the group I was part of. There were positive contributions, but so much time taken up by complaining, negative commentary & self interest. It was just impossible to focus on anything positive. I remember at one stage wondering whether Jim's objective was to suss out the the supporter base he was dealing with. The positives from my perspective - I shook Ron Barassi by the hand. I shook Jim Stynes by the hand. Saw Rod Grinter & James Macdonald at the Members Bar. Got to speak to Dean Bailey.

And Petracca.

Not sure Clarko or Dimma would hold back for fear of upsetting the 'poor guy'.

I think we are going OK. I mean our skill set should have us in 18th spot, yet we still manage to hold onto 17th.

I have never seen security at the MCG do much apart from stand around looking bored. I often wonder if they know, for example, what the MCG conditions of entry are. I'm sure that if security had been more proactive at all venues over the years there would be a lot less bad behaviour now.

Well she had the option to go to Geelong when Hickey & Cranston did. She chose to re sign with us. That's loyal enough for me.

Slightly off topic. See in the HS today a Richmond cheersquad member banned for calling an umpire a green maggot. Getting really precious now.

Too bad this guy doesn't qualify. Looks fit enough.
