Exactly. Not uncommon for negotiations to start with ambit claims from both sides. We ask for 6 & another first rounder, they offer 11 & a second rounder. They should have eventually got to a median position of 6 & a second rounder. Therefore we get what we want ..May. They get what they want .. Hogan. But they decide to sell pick 6 for some reason that escapes me, they don't have the 5 they were expecting and they have nowhere to go. Just plain amateurs who have outsmarted themselves. If they manage to get pick 5 I think the deal will still happen. Only because we are a professional outfit with a clear outcome in mind.

Personally I don't think Taylor, Mahoney, Viney, Roos, Goodwin or Jackson are naive or stupid. They would have been well aware of this possible scenario. They have taken a long term view.
