  1. Great get, Wrecker. I'm not sure if it covers whether a player named in the squad of 18, i.e. non emergency, can be removed from the starting squad, although I recognise insinuation by definition.
  2. No, which is I used the word "virtually". I've seen it done before, but it's highly unlikely.
  3. You virtually never see a player named in the 18 omitted.
  4. Hawthorn were the laughing stock of the competition until the 1960's.
  5. I'm talking about Cripps first 18 games, not the 3 in his first year. When you add the first 15 from his excellent second year to the 3 from his first year I think you'll find his first 18 games provide similar output.
  6. Post the link not the video. The club needs traffic to its website.
  7. The first 5 games of his second year blow everyone else out of the water. I hope and expect him to keep it up for the remainder of the year. But when you isolate just his first 18 games I suspect Cripps and Tom Rockliff's numbers would probably be as good.
  8. I've not suffered from either affliction, but am aware it's a problem across society. As it's an important issue, my suggestion is to pin this thread. I've never opened it, but there's a similar thread pinned on the main page of BigFooty and it has over 400 posts. Some might like to also reference that thread.
  9. In: Pedersen, Lewis, Bugg, Weideman Out: Smith, Spencer, Hogan, JKH Bugg rewarded for form and takes the spot of Kennedy-Harris, while Kent was apparently quiet at Casey and doesn't get rewarded for being quiet in the VFL. They could bring in Oscar instead of Weideman and switch Tom to the forward-line. Have the athletic Frost take Daniher (when he goes forward), who has always torn Tom a new one. They just have to get creative, lower the eyes, spread the forward-line and pick out holes. If we can win the midfield battle we can still win this game. In reality, I have no idea how selections will go this week.
  10. I know what you mean, but he doesn't have pace, doesn't have any x-factor, and doesn't kick goals. I know the coaches rate him, but I'm not overly sure why. He's been cruelled by injuries for a while and I've seen him in some nice passages of play, but I don't see a special player in our midst.
  11. If you don't think Hibberd is a "gun" and only rate him "slightly higher than Melksham" to use your words, then I doubt you'd recognise a gun if it was pointed at your temple.
  12. You don't rate Hibberd, so I find your views on Jones interesting.
  13. He's in my Dreamteam, so i watch him a bit. He's OK, but he turns it over by foot a lot and I'm not sure how he differentiates from what we already have. I'm not the most romantic guy, so the fact he's Nathan's brother means zero to me.
  14. Is meh the term ?
  15. Another 5 votes on Monday (votes from both coaches). He's equal 4th the AFLCA leaderboard after round 5. AFLCA LEADERBOARD 34 Rory Sloane (Adel) 31 Joel Selwood (Geel) 29 Ollie Wines (PA) 25 Dustin Martin (Rich) 25 Clayton Oliver (Melb) 23 Zach Merrett (Ess) 21 Luke Shuey (WC) 21 Elliot Yeo (WC) 20 Patrick Dangerfield (Geel) 20 Robbie Gray (PA) 20 David Mundy (Frem)
  16. If Weideman is over his corkie I'd like him back in this week. I know others won't agree. Hogan needs another tall foil and Weideman is more dangerous with the opposition concentrating on Hogan.
  17. I agree. With deeper thought it's probably too risky, although I don't like putting people in cotton wool like some on here. EDIT: He's a fair way off from a fitness perspective based on Plapp's report. Let's hope Goodwin can conjure some magic with Pedersen or Frost.
  18. Lynch has played over 100 games and is in his 7th season. Check his stats after 44 games and make a comparison.
  19. So it was "insane" to play him for Casey ? Clearly it's not ideal, but are you trying to tell me he wouldn't be better in the ruck than Frost, Watts, etc. ? Because if he would be better it's not insane.
  20. He's not the answer as a fill in ruckman. Won't happen.
  21. He's 20 and in his third year. He's on the list for a reason. And it's situations like this.
  22. We really don't have anyone decent to pinch hit in the ruck for the next couple of months. Frost is needed down back, Watts is needed up forward, Pedersen is 193cm and will have zero effect, put simply, none of them will go close to breaking even and we weaken our other structures. We need a ruckman and I'd go with Mitch King. Obviously, obviously, we would have been looking for him to play the year at Casey and perhaps get a game at the end of the year or not at all, but circumstances change. He's overcome his ACL, he's back playing against men at Casey, he's 20 now, and he keeps our structure. It's only for 7 or 8 weeks and I see little downside to giving him a crack. He's super talented and if he can have a crack for 7 or 8 weeks it's a better outcome. Otherwise it has to be Frost with Watts providing relief, but that's terrible structurally and means our midfield will start every game on the back foot. This is Melon 22's thoughts on King in Casey's win on the weekend: King - The highlight of the night for me, wasn't as good in the second half but I was super impressed with his return. Got involved in the play around the ground and is running ability and athleticism for his size was surprisingly good, not afraid to kick as well and looked like old school ruck rover than a lumbering ruckman type. His stats were modest, but he had 26 hitouts Mitch King 2 kicks 5 handballs 7 disposals 2 marks 4 tackles 26 hit outs 59 dream team points. As I said, it's not ideal, but for me Mitch King provides the best structure and is at least worth a try. I don't see much of a downside.
  23. Not really. The medicos are very good at diagnosing the structure of a knee injury during the game and wouldn't have let him back on if they thought it was significant. The club expects him to get up for next weeks game.
