  1. Still getting robbed! two of their free kicks were rubbish.
  2. yeahh..........no. Armitage? That's as ridiculous as suggesting their best is six goals better than our best.
  3. I don't blame him for not believing Roos. When I heard the comment from him it brought back memories of Jeremy Howes great zero possession half. Hopefully he gets one back on Stkilda this week, Acres stitched him up last time we met.
  4. During his first game against Collingwood the commentators mentioned that Collingwood had intended to take him with their next pick. Think they may have even told Hunt this prior to the draft.
  5. I thought he was really good in the aerial contests, however, he looked cooked fairly early in the game and was caught sleeping a few times in the defensive 50 giving his opponents too much space/not running back hard enough. He got away with most of them. Similar to his first game.
  6. He was good, but he's not quite on the right page with the game plan, still playing Neelds down the line on quite a few occasions when we should have maintained possession. Can't fault his endeavour so hopefully he can sort it out.
  7. From what I have seen (a somewhat limited amount) his pace is not an issue at all and he would be significantly quicker than Wagner.
  8. Excited to see him play again. I like his mix of attributes.
  9. How is running backwards 15 meters then kicking the ball 15 meters efficient?
  10. Not that I want him, but I don't see how they could expect anymore for a player that they don't believe is worth 500k (and he clearly isn't).
  11. He dropped just as many marks as passes that missed him and rarely lead at the ball carrier, Nathan Jones had to force him to lead on the one occasion he got a goal from a lead. I thought both the free kicks he got that resulted in goals were fairly soft and he made sure the umpire knew, would much rather he stood up to the minimal body contact he received. Once again he missed crucial shots on goal in the last quarter to get us back in the game, I hope this doesn't become a habit or the OX might have to get on his case again. Obviously, he is an amazing prospect and if he can put it all together will be one of the best players in the competition. The simple fact is he is so much more talented than other players that I am not going to judge him against a dud like Tom Boyd. He is not doing some of the simple fundamentals and you don't need talent to do them. That is why a minority of us are getting a little bit frustrated with him. I do blame him for getting frustrated if a teammate doesn't hit him with a 20m pass, suck it up and chase the ball carrier. He did the exact same thing to Max Gawn and cost us a goal.
  12. I get the feeling teams always get high tackle numbers against us. Our players are easy to tackle as opposed to other teams just being on.
  13. Missed two very easy goals that he needs to kick if he wants to keep playing. Had plenty of time to steady on both occasions.
  14. I thought he was really poor even before the final error which summed him up. He is not the only one that does it, but he continually evades players and has the chance to run forward but goes backwards and then ends up giving a 5 meter handball which puts a team mate under pressure. He made a nice pass to Jones inside 50 but other than that I can't think of any meaningful contributions to the game. And before the people bringing up disposal efficiency keep posting the stat. A handball to a teammate under pressure will count on this statistic but just because you hit the target doesn't mean it was good use of the ball.
  15. He went because they thought he was a forward and he wanted to be. Now they've realized. Essentially he has proved our coaching staff right. In relation to the last part, I think he was sucked in like a lot of the football media and believed the hype around Collingwood.
  16. Kneejerk. They play Etihad well but struggle anywhere else. Percentage tells the true story.
  17. White? Really? Based on what? I'd be shocked if that is the case. Sentiment aside, has Trengove shown more than Newton or Michie this year? I do expect he will be given another year and that's fine but two years would just add to a number of very poor decisions we have made with contracts.
  18. Sorry for crashing, but Todd Vineys soon Todd?
  19. What? I'm a simple person but this makes no sense. How do you develop a winning culture when your focus isn't winning games? IMO it's a cop out from Roosy and an easy thing to say given he wont be around to cop the heat if it doesn't work out. Our game style has shown that we fall right in that bracket at this stage.
  20. Such a poor argument. Mitchell has so many other elite attributes which make him a good player.
  21. Disclaimer: I hope I am wrong (unfortunately, I don't think I will be) I can only speak for myself, but I'm looking at his attributes and can't see enough for him to succeed in a successful team. His speed, power, agility and kicking penetration are all below average. He has no tricks to get out of stoppages. With his kicking he is picking options that are good but just can't get the ball to go far enough. Even his pass to Watts two weeks ago that Watts marked should have had another 5 meters on it. His possessions for the most part are not impacting games and he is not a good kick on the run. He will give a solid effort every week, but we need more than that from our midfielders and he will be exposed in any other position. My opinion has not changed since watching his first VFL game this year and unless he is going to get Armitages sprint coach, I don't see it working out. He is still getting high tackles numbers but this is something that drove me nuts in Neelds era, he gets this partly due to being second to the ball and being too defensive. I do agree that he is probably ahead of others in the team on form (not for team structure however).
  22. I don't think so, if he was clearly trying to articulate something then that would be a way to clarify it, but it's Eddie. A bomb into water needs to come from the outside and fits into this context. We will have to agree to disagree on this one.
