  1. Interesting discussion trading Grimes. He is probably the best depth player we have, and appears to be a great clubman. A 4th round pick is about the right currency at the moment, in what has been said to be a shallow draft I would think Grimes is worth keeping over a 4th round pick. Doubt Grimes is in our top 10 paid so there is no salary benefit moving him on.
  2. Not yet, but you would think that is a lock to happen before seasons end.
  3. Hardly looks like a first year player out there, looks so composed. Sure he was a mature age recruit but he has really adapted well. Loving the way he goes about his footy, he is hard at it and his second efforts are brilliant.
  4. According to the demonland contracts thread we have a large number out of contract. You would think delistings would likely come from those out of contract. The Thread lists the following player out of contract :Trengove, Jamar, Garland, McKenzie, Howe, Gawn, Fitzpatrick, Toumpas, Pedersen, Hunt, Cross, Bail, Riley, Harmes, King, Vandenberg, White. I think Jamar and cross could hang up their boots at seasons end, meaning we would still be likely to make another 4-5 list changes. VandenBerg will be upgraded, and the other 3 rookies will likely be retained for another year. There are a few on this list playing for their careers. Garland will be offered good money to stay, and you would think with Jamars pending retirement that Gawn and/or Fitzpatrick will get at least another 1-2 year deal until we figure out our ruck situation . Pedo has done enough for an extension, however he could be on the table for trade. The remaining list changes are likely to contain a bulk of the players I haven't mentioned, and the odd trade we don't see coming. Howe will likely be traded, I hope he is used to secure an asset that will help us immediately.
  5. We need another 4-5 quality mids if we are going to see drastic change. These fringe players from other clubs are handy, but when your list is made up of them you have a problem on your hands. We have far too many players who are handy, but not stars. Must pay top dollar to bring a top mid to the club.
  6. The ABL was resurrected when the MLB took over ownership and poured cash into. MLB Players are sent to Australia to work on their game during the offseason which lifts the quality of play in the ABL. The NBL would need a similar lifeline with a cash and player injection. If the number 13-15 guys on the bench of an NBA roster came out of to Oz the standard of play would be a drastic improvement. Also free agents trying to get back into the NBA have a feeder league that doesn't require them to go to Europe or China. In order for this to work the league must run parallel to the NBA or D-League to remain viable. Also visibility and TV rights need reviewing. Get this on free to air and get it trending.
  7. Pick the best available, if it is Roos then grab him.
  8. I feel McCartin will go #1 if the saints hold on to it. He is exactly what they need, and will be rebuilding for a few years which will allow him to develop under Riewoldt's tutelage. Petracca and Brayshaw at 2 and 3 is a possibility. Although, I am intrigued by Wright, I think we will go with 2 mids if given the chance.
  9. Tom is a legitimate prospect. I am happy to put up with some poor kicks and decisions while he grows as a footballer. I think he is worth investing in.

Dappa Dan and Nuggets. Neither of you have Arian Foster in your top 5 running backs??? Lets not get carried away by who has rushed the most yards this season thus far. Foster did miss 2 games and was clearly hurting game two. Since he has come back there has not been a back as good as Foster. My texans were dead in the water without him. Since he has bounced back we have started to shake up the AFC. With our schedule, we could take top seed in the AFC...maybe.......but we are talking about the Texans. Jay Cutler ahead of Matt Ryan? Each to their own.......

Seriously I fell of my chair with the Colts V Saints score today. 11 points off equaling the NFL record for points. As I said earlier, I cannot see the colts winning a game! And as an AFC South man, I AM LOVING IT!!!! Finally my boys have a clear shot at the division. Marino's record will fall. Brees??? Also, I can see Cam Newton setting all kinds of rookie records! HE IS A FREAK!!!

McNabb is out of town fo' sure! He cannot seem to make it work. Keen on David Garrard at the Vikes?? Seems like an okay fit for now. How will my texans do with Andre out for 3-4 weeks??? If we win the next 3 look out AFC!

Yeah, we beat the Saints (Foster 2x TDs in the first quarter.........) but I think we will get better idea of who is who in the zoo after week 1. Tebow has been assigned as backup for the Broncos.....this sucks.

They need to hurry up! Still tossing up whether to jump into fantasy football this season!!!
  21. If both sides continue winning that could be a ripper of a game. Going to be a vital clash between divisional rivals. Yankees still lead the division, but Rays and Sox are right behind them! Shame you are not going in late August or early September, you could have squeezed in an NFL game in Tampa (barring lockout of course.......)
  22. The Royals actually have a strong connection with Australia. In 2005 Melbourne's Justin Huber was drafted (now plays in the ABL for the Melbourne Aces) and I have heard that we may see an KC pitcher play down in the ABL next season due to strong ties with the Royals and the Melbourne Aces management. The ABL is great if you haven't been so get on it baseball fans. I don't mind the Royals, they are not that bad. And they did win it all in 85, unlike the Demons who haven't raised silverware since 64............... Oh, and Speights Brewery is a ripper in NZ! Can't find it here, but would be keen to get on it again if anyone knows where it can be bought.
  23. Cleveland Indians QueenC?? I hope you are referring to "Wild Thing's" Cleveland Indians from movie 'Major League' and not the Cleveland Indians currently dominating the AL standings!!
  24. yeah, I have a reserved seat for the Aces. Worth the travel. Speaking of losing trends, my Pirates are now 4 games below .500 Not looking good.
  25. Big MLB fan. As fas as the "Big 4" Pro sports in the states go I am pretty die hard. I am however a long suffering Pirates fan. Yes, I know they suck, but so do the Demons so you can understand why it is hard to leave a lovable loser. Yes, it is a long a tedious season. Will Pirates play playoffs this season? Nope. Will the Sox? Maybe Happy to discuss MLB anytime. You follow the ABL??
