  1. I think there is some chance of getting Kemp at 15 and Pickett at 20 i think most on here would be pretty happy with that result.
  2. There is absolutely no chance the Swans will decide not to bid on Green with their first pick.
  3. Cal Twomey suggesting in his phantom draft that if Serong is there at pick 10 we will take him ahead of picket and that Kemp and Robertson are well and truely still in discussions.
  4. Max isn't a great kick, players can learn to work within their limitations. though i'm not sure Jackson is as bad as is being made out.
  5. Not related to the MFC but geez there is an exciting side building at Freo. add in Young Robertson Henry.
  6. Talking about that game. Young Jackson was very dominant in the ruck, impressive follow up work and played a huge role in the result. he's a bit like Dean Cox. he basically gives you an extra midfielder.
  7. No, we don't. we know our list is a lot better than 17th. though i agree if we take a risk it should only be one pick. if we want Jackson we should go for one of Stephens, Kemp, Ash, etc.
  8. Another thing i'd add is the Giants are crying out for a small forward. so if they do get a bonus top 5 pick that might well be something they look at. Serong is probably one they could take who could make a quick impact as a forward.
  9. MFCSS is strong this year. i can absolutely see us taking both Jackson and Pickett and watching Ash, Stephens and Young go on to become superstars and Kemp win 3 brownlows at the cats.
  10. I personally would be bidding on Green because i think he's close to a sure thing in terms of a quality AFL player and because it means that Ash won't be taken at pick 4 which pushes guys down opens a very real possibility for us to get one of Ash or Young at 10. and if they don't match we get Green and they take Jackson and those guys are still a chance to make it.
  11. No player is a sure thing to walk in and dominate, or to even make it. But Jackson certainly has attributes and talent that would have most clubs excited.
  12. normally by this point most of the top 10 is reasonably settled but this year is so fluid. sure things in their positions 1. Rowell 2. Anderson 3. Jackson/Young/Green 4. Jackson/Green/Ash 5. Flanders 6. Young/Ash 7. Robertson 8. Serong/Ash/Young/ Stephens 9. Serong/Ash/Young/Kemp/Weightman 10. Serong/ Ash/ Stephens/ Young/ Weightman/ Kemp
  13. The dogs have their eyes on someone specific. but it's not Weightman.
  14. Depending on if our plan is to take Weightman. if we do i suspect he'd be there at 12 or 14. so 14 so 17 is a better bonus pick than 18
  15. If we want Weightman it makes sense to split that pick with the Cats. and upgrade 28 - 17 and still get the same player.
  16. Carlton want another small forward for sure. i personally think they're more likely to grab Serong but i think it's mostly guess work at this point. I think there is a serious possibility Adelaide or Fremantle could jump at 6 or 7 and grab Stephens. hopefully opening the door for Young to somehow slide to 10.
  17. It would be an extremely dissapointing result if pick 8 resulted in us missing out on Hayden Young at pick 8. i personally don't understand the trade because it's a shallow draft and pick number 8 is worth a lot more than pick number 10 this year. anything after pick 20 is basically speculative. i think this has been a bad move by the club and based on that will cost us a very good player who has attributes that our side DESPERATELY needs.
  18. Dylan Stephens. genuine speed and class. exactly what we're lacking. everyone i've spoken to says he's an extremely impressive young man on and off the field. i think the only curve ball would be is if one of Ash or Young somehow slid that far.
  19. This is my concern. would be a shame to miss out on someone like Hayden young for the sake of a speculative pick in a shallow draft.
  20. I think there is a very high chance we will bid on Green, the Giants will match the bid and this will be part of a ploy to ensure someone else we want gets down to pick 10. weather it be Ash, Young, Stephens or whoever
  21. I've been told by a few people that the player we have in mind for pick 10 is Dylan Stephens. we apparently are concerned with Ash's disposal under pressure? maybe some of the draft watches can confirm this. Caleb Serong is in the mix as well but Stephens is the one we really like. i don't see us splitting the pick again.
  22. In terms of pure talent Jackson is the most talented player in this draft with the highest ceiling. I think it's a very easy choice at pick 3. there are Hayden youngs every year.
