Always sad when one of the good ones leave us. Fond memories of being on his table at my first B & F early 90's. Schwarta was also sitting with us for a lot of the time, and despite being a little starstruck sitting with #5, it was Barry who left the lasting impression with me of that night. Glad you got to hold the cup, King. RIP ❤️ 💙

Great post, George. Thank you. As a 46 year member, I have always been bewildered by the low early numbers. Especially 1987, our first year of finals in 23 years. Only 3122 members! This suggests I will be one of very few to reach 50 years (hopefully) in the next decade. Although proud of this, a little sad that it will be a such a small party. At least my eldest son will be a member too. 🤗

Maybe read the link in my last post to see his club experience. 5 Premierships in the 16 years at Geelong and Hawthorn, 8 as CEO. I'm pretty sure he knows what he'd be facing.

Loved it. Had to watch it twice. Good to see a lighter side to Harvey, too. They seem great kids. Everything about the Dees seems new and improved. The last couple of years I've just wanted the season to start to stop the noise. This time I'm hanging to start the noise. What a different vibe it is. As HL said, bring on 2025!

Lindsay has a great footy IQ. Yes, he plays a lot outside (that in itself is not a negative) but he will tackle and be up for the hard ball when required. We have been crying out for on-ballers who think before they dispose of the ball to complement the crash and bash of some of our guns. The positive is that I am going to be happy watching Xavier over the next decade plus in red and blue, and GoodolBartul has already stated he will be happy to be proven wrong. Win/win.

It's funny. I came away thinking that perhaps Berry was being considered too. Three times he mentioned small forwards with mids and talls as possibles. Maybe he was just deliberately broadening the field to give absolutely nothing away.

We must be looking at a different player. In the u18 Championships, he took every mark one grab. It really stood out. His school coach, Matthew Lloyd, says he's the best one grab mark he's ever seen as a junior. Whatever knock you want to put on Armstrong, marking is not it.
