Not a Huge fan of the AFL Umpires Show. Would have preferred that they bounced the ball correctly in the middle and just did their job. I prefer watching the players. Carlton played well. We didn't seem to have defensive mids We didn't run and spread. We couldn't stick tackles. We lacked system. Maybe we lacked interest? It's hard to be up for such a long time. I will be there round one and I will be wanting to see some desire and fire!

I guess it is pretty early to make judgements but having watched most of these practice games all the other teams apart from ours looked very disorganised. I wasn't sure either. I thought that the player on the mark was listening to the bench and the umpire was asking her to go back a metre. I didn't think that the player heard the request and was standing perfectly still

I would have liked him to be mentored by May. He needs to learn how to compete and to be physical. I have always believed that Weid would make a good CHB. Petty looks a chance to play FWD with his physicality. It can't hurt to have multiple strings to your bow.

Spargs is one of the best tacklers IMHO
