yep he does. But I don't rate his ruck work and I'm not sure he a lock down defender - cover for Tomo/May/Petty. I could be wrong here but I reckon he is more a good mark/intercept guy if we get 2-3 injuries down back it might get messy!

A key back in case of further injuries would be handy Also a mature ruck, in case Gawn goes down or needs a breather - as he is getting beaten up every week now.

The horrible performance against North has shaken my confidence in the team. North are a poor team (see 127pt loss to dogs) and were 20pts up in the 3rd Q, on a clear day just because they out-worked us. We did well to recover but I saw danger signs. What is up with Gawn? I have never seen him drop a chest mark and fumble inside defensive 50. maybe it was the head knocks Hopefully it was the shock we needed to keep our winning season on track. I suspect we will need to grind this one out. Swans are a different team with Buddy in - 11 goals in 3 games Demons by 4 points

Hopefully the first half against North is a good reminder we can lose to anyone anytime if our intensity is off. It certainly was for me!

Rampe and Buddy in the Swans. viney, Tommo and Fristch out for us this will be a very tough game. Someone has to bring Vineys intensity in the middle (sadly missing yesterday) and someone needs to make up for Fritsch’s 3 goals per game. Also Petty needs to hold his own down back

They just had on ‘on the couch’ Tommo is number 1 in the AFL in defence for 1 on 1s. Only been beaten once out of 21 contests. a big loss for us

Weed in for Fristch is a major downgrade. Not because Weed is no good but Fritsch is on fire and offers a point of difference. Weed, T Mac, B Brown and LJ is too tall and not mobile enough. Our pressure will suffer

Well reasoned post I am disappointed in Melksham in the past 18 months. I agree his kicking is great and when he has the ball is one of our best users. The issue is his general lack of intensity. In the first half his half hearted tackles and not getting rid of the ball in traffic quickly enough were poor. He is a senior player and these type of weak efforts can spread through the group. So does his quality ball use outweigh his negatives? Not for me

Completely agree. Flying in on the game for a 1pm kick off is amateur. Much better prep to stay the night

Man that was an emotional game. I’ll admit I lost it early in the 3rd. The kids were hiding. Thank [censored] we played that horribly against north coz we would have lost against most team with that first half. hopefully there are some serious conversations going on. We need to turn up 100% intensity 100% of the time. That first half easy good enough having said all that I’m pumped we are 7-0!!
