Premiership gun over two kids tough call
-
Great to see Hore back. If he had been more lucky he’d be a regular AMW has had a good taste but has plenty to work on would have been nice to see Jeffo. hopefully next week
-
Do we still have a no DH policy? Could be a problem
-
okay then so we won't end up trading them and don't want to leave Thanks for clarifying your previous post was incorrect

Bringing in the big guns now. Kane Cornes thinks we are bad after our worst 3 months in years. Amazing insights. Re-hashing the culture BS without any proof. Surprised he hasn’t gone into coaching himself. Oh wait, you have to be accountable, so that wouldn’t work

I feel for Dan, he seems to be aging at an incredible rate He doesn't turn 28 for another 9 months!

Christian Petracca’s 2024 Season Ending Injuries
DubDee replied to pitmaster's topic in Melbourne Demons
If the players were happy at the moment, I'd be furious. Its been the worst 3 months of footy for years. The LG should let the coach and club know their view if they haven't already -
Do you have any inside info that Clarry and Rivers will be traded or are you just speculating? We would be full rebuild mode if they both leave
-
Some good points I personally think Clarry will back to his best next year. You don't lose talent overnight. And Trac will be back to his best. So with these 2 you have to go all-in while they are in their prime imo. Clarry just turned 27 last month. If we go all in with the draft, we will regret it in 5 years when there is no Trac, Clarry, Lever, Langdon, Viney etc. What are the odds of us drafting anyone close to as good to Trac or Clarry? But of course we need more mids to come in. Anyway, I'm getting off topic!

Lots to consider. Where is the list at, where is our window at? I personally believe in the next 4-5 years we can rebound and have a couple of goes at a flag. Trac, Clarry especially are generational players that you can't replace. If the club agrees with this, then we can't just top up with draft picks, we need senior players to come in especially with Gus gone, and May and others getting over the hill. This was Hawthorn's approach before their 3 in a row. Top up with senior bodies in 25-28yo range. We lack leadership and depth across the ground. So if not Houston, then who? And yes, you have to give up good picks for good contracted players. Pick 7 from 2020-2022- Josh Ward, Cameron MacKenzie, Elijah Hollands So do we think Pick 7 or an experienced AA defender would better help us win a flag? How many AA defenders have we had in the past 10 years, 1 in May maybe? No doubt his kicking and experience would be huge for us. We have gone to the draft a lot in the past 3-4 years with plenty of youth coming through My opinion, Pick 7 for Houston would be a good deal for us. Pick 7 + F1? = hell no

Jeffo will debut this week and I for one, would love to see a selfie of @picket fence when he hears the news

Ever heard of a coach saying the season is done before it is? Kills the players and the fans. I am sure he knows the reality better than we do.
-
Why would the AFL prefer dead rubbers on prime time friday night to Sunday? bizarre
-
so what is your contention? A coach like any role is either good or bad in the position. So is he good or bad? did he forget how to coach in 2022 or did other factors come in? Or does good coaching come in waves and we can’t do anything to stop it?

Perhaps the best combination of toughness and skill i’ve seen Certainly the best finals player i’ve ever seen

Time to plan the vegas trip lads do not upload the whatsapp group chat to the cloud though

A poll on should we sack Goodwin now would be interesting with only 2 options. yes/no id expect over 65% No
-
Put Max on ice FFS i reckon he has 2 more elite seasons in him if handled well
-
IN Jefferson, Hore, K Brown Out May, Howes, Melksham Turner to play key Back

I am somewhat on the fence after the past 18 months. I don't think its time to go Goody but I am also not sure Goody is the still the Man. New thread - Goody might be the guy? No I'll spare us all that If he can't rejuvenate the squad/gameplan over the preseason and we start like we are playing now, I don't think he will last past round 10.

A hopeful look at 2025 (from a pessimist)
DubDee replied to FearTheBeard's topic in Melbourne Demons
Gee, that’s a bit glass half empty -
Gee it must be tough to turn up to training and face the media for the players We've gone from top 4 in round 8 to season over in round 20. A horrible few months Put time into the youngsters, get the hunger ramped up for next season
-
I like Wright but he has been poor this year and average last year. Even dropped this year when the bombers have few tall fwds If he gets his head right he is a quality mark and straight kick for a big man Bombers would want a fair bit for him and he would want a big contract being 28 soon

Is there still a pre-finals bye? If so, this lack of a last round fixture if a farce
-
so when the Pies put the cue in the rack in 2021 and came second last that was a lack of pride? [censored] me
