Perhaps they know they’re not going to make the 8 so they send players away early for surgery so they’re good to go prior to pre-season. I read an article not long ago, that I’m struggling to find, which related to Carlton’s excessive injury list at the start of the season. They had ‘experts’ come in and conduct an examination as to why they were so badly hit. I shall post if I find it. Part of the findings though( from memory) was age of the players (under 25 more likely to be injured) and lack of stamina (apparently more likely to be injured).
