  1. I think looking at the state leagues is the way to go. @Pennant St Dee might be able to nominate a couple from over here. Tyrone Thorne any good?
  2. Rioli? He’s not a gun, and Grimes is a reliable backmen who’s been hugely talked up by the media. That aside, I do agree with the principle of your post. Gawn? For sure. Oliver? Probably, but I question his effectiveness given how many times he gets the ball and fires off a quick handball. Consistent performers and performances is key and we don’t have that. Bett’s is in decline and his goal kicking tally was beefed up in performances against lowly teams, IMO given where we are, we should be sticking clear.
  3. Woo hoo. 2020 here we come.
  4. Yep twice, rounds 5 and 17.
  5. Especially when you’re crap.
  6. #ETthetradebreaker understands and possibly believes and make no mistake, Tim Smith may retire. More to come.
  7. Is there another game next week because it was a draw?
  8. The only thing I can think of at the moment is that we told the AFL we are expecting to lose one or a number of our better or up and coming players. Or at the least, they expect them to request a trade. The reason I think this is because he brought up the fact we won’t be offered priority pick assistance.
  9. Apparently....Brayshaw’s old man might be in the running for the vacant CEO position at Freo.
  10. Well I think we know who Damien Barrett is on Demonland now.
  11. Fair enough. I’d prefer if we targeted him it was for the backline so May can become a swing-man and have a go up forward. The Carlton supporters I’ve spoken to think we’re crazy if we target him as a pure forward. The games he played down back this year proved he’s a better defender than forward. We’ll see what happens I suppose.
  12. I edited my original post which also made this point.
  13. Technically I suppose it could happen. Personally I couldn’t see a RFA being used that way though. If we were keen to trade picks with GWS as we’re they and Tomlinson wanted to come to Melbourne, i’d Imagine they’d be done as seperate deals with an agreement. For example, we’ll trade you our picks 11 and 13 for pick 3 and we won’t match your offer for Tomlinson.
  14. In relation to your first question I think you’re pretty much correct. In attempting to answer your second question are you thinking along the lines of: He nominates Melbourne and we offer him a contract however GWS match the offer and force a trade?
  15. Far out, Tomlinson is an RFA. He won’t he used as part of a trade or thrown in as ‘steak knives’.
  16. His first game down back was round 10 vs St Kilda after Jones went down with concussion. He played there until round 13 when he was moved forward again then Carlton had a bye in round 14. Round 15 he went back to defence and round 16 he played forward against us. Rounds 18, 19, 20 and 21 he played forward before Jones went down again for the last two games where he was moved back to defence. So that’s 14 forward and 6 in defence. He played a little more in defence than what I thought but in no way is that most of the season. By all reports, he definitely played better down back as well. As far as forward targets go, I just think we have to aim a little higher, he’ll also be 30 before the start of next season.
  17. He’s still classified as a UFA...and he’s a spud.
  18. Where are you getting your information? Or are you just arguing because you’re bored? https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/coupler.foxsports.com.au/api/v1/article/amp/afl/afl-free-agents-2019-updated-list-of-restricted-and-unrestricted-free-agents-revealed/news-story/34a03922d5f74bd43177e70f9b4c027b https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/coupler.foxsports.com.au/api/v1/article/amp/afl/the-afl-releases-the-list-of-2019-free-agents-with-stephen-coniglio-headlining-the-list/news-story/df8d33065e92e6f32e2f3a3fa734f96f https://m.afl.com.au/news/2019-07-04/former-free-agents-among-50-names-added-to-2019-list https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/out_of_contract_players
  19. Which teams in the top 8 have a big lug of a player in the forward line who managed to play 20 games but only kick 15 goals? 1/5th of those goals were against us as well.
  20. He’s an Unrestricted Free Agent. Regardless, still no.
  21. POWER STANCE
  22. Gil said we didn’t tank ‘on game-day’ so that’s good enough for me.
  23. There was an article floating around which I read a while ago. It was about Yze’s time as Hawthorn’s goal kicking coach and how we had 5 or 6 different types of kicks. Many of the players spoke highly of Yze and how he turned their kicking around to make them much better kicks. Getting him is a must.
  24. It’s being reported that he’ll join us. https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/fremantle-midfielder-ed-langdon-settles-on-melbourne-as-his-club-of-choice-ahead-of-trade-move/news-story/d82f71166d16bbf7f025104ba6d7a9b4
