  1. Seriously think if everyone is up and firing, another pre-season into the Roos gameplan and with a few handy additions anything is possible. Trengrove (fit), Jones, Vince, Tyson (another pre-season), Cross, Barry (another pre-season), Jetta (best small backman all year), Dawes/Hogan combination, Dunn, Garlett roving, Lumumba running off the backline, Grimes, Watts (another pre-season under Roos), pick 2 and 3...
  2. Just me or is the MFC a sneaky chance of getting in the 8 if everything goes to plan next year?
  3. How much of a good bloke is Roosy? If that was Malthouse last night being grilled by Caro he would have lost the plot. Roos is the perfect ambassador for the MFC. Sign up for 10 years, Roosy.
  4. Need classier younger midfielders going forward. Need skillful defenders who can execute out of the defensive 50. Need a better, agile, tap ruckman. Need another foil for Dawes. Need more damaging small forwards. List has a long, long way to go. Onwards and upwards under Roosy.
  5. Lock the game down. Win the game. Simple, dees.
  6. People need to understand where Chip is coming from. 25 years old, coming to the prime of his career, and he simply wants to know what is future is going to be for the next 4-5 years. Fair enough. He's been through alot of false dawns and you only have so long to get success in football. Chip loves the dees, and if Roosy put pen to paper for the next 4-5 years, I think he'd sign on the dotted line.
  7. Roosy is an absolute coaching genius. First half was diabolical. No run, no spread, losing contested footy, losing 1 v 1s. Second half, what a change in mindset and coaching. That's a real coaching bloke at the helm. Reckon we can knock off North next week.
  8. Jesus, some people are already getting there knickers in a knot about Roosy and his gameplan. Did you see that same defensiveness against Carlton and Richmond? He went ultra defensive today, because if he instructed the side to go all out attacking, we would have got opened up the other way and scored heavily against their midfield. 9 points down going into the fourth. We kick that goal, and it's a 3 point game. Bloke is a genius. The team Collingwood put out their today should have flogged our mob based on the last couple of years. I can guarantee you if Neeld was in charge, that game would have been a hammering. Of course as a side where we simply do not have the cattle to beat the best teams in the comp, he is going to go defensive, make it a scrap, and try and steal a win in the last quarter. Unfortunately that didn't happen, and the terrible ball going inside 50 didn't help our cause. Next week against Essendon you will see a more attacking football side. Mark my words.
  9. Seriously how classy is this bloke? I love the look of him already. The balance, composure, and nous to find Bail without making him break stride was brilliant. Little moments like that early on in a young footballers career and you know he will be a gun. Then the hardness to bump Ebert and make space for Toumpas, to then finish off, showed the level head at that stage of the game. I can't believe people who were questioning the deal. Tyson and Salem individually will be better footballers then Kelly IMO. Let alone both of them together. Guns.
  10. Been looking at Roosy's coaching record and the from when he took over at the Swans to when he left them, and I can see the dees going on the exact same trajectory as the path the Swans took. Roos took on a battling list, re-shaped the culture and philosophy of the club, drafted hard tough smart midfielders, with a prolonged forward line to suit his gameplan, and a defense very hard to score against. Year by Year Coaching Record Year Team Games Coached Wins Losses Draws Win % 2002 Sydney Swans 10 6 4 0 60.0% 2003 Sydney Swans 24 15 9 0 62.5% 2004 Sydney Swans 24 14 10 0 58.3% 2005 Sydney Swans 26 18 8 0 69.2% 2006 Sydney Swans 25 16 9 0 64.0% 2007 Sydney Swans 23 12 10 1 52.2% 2008 Sydney Swans 24 13 10 1 54.2% 2009 Sydney Swans 22 8 14 0 36.4% 2010 Sydney Swans 24 14 10 0 58.3% 2014 Melbourne Demons 9 3 6 0 33.3% So from 2002 onwards his win percentage was always over the 50 percent mark up until 2009 when alot of their senior blokes retired, and the club did incredibly well to rebuild from that 2009 year. Roosy simply has to stay on for the whole tenure until a flag is reached. His a class act.
  11. I'd say our team is playing above what we have out on the park. Roosy is doing an incredible job with what he has at his disposal and what he's had to deal with so far this year. Defense playing without an All-australian defender in Frawley, No Clark or Hogan upforward, lack of midfield depth and depth in general in the back and forward halves. The dogs have more depth in midfield and you could see in that last 10 minutes the midfield clearance rotations were killing us. Cooney, Boyd, Griffen, Liberatore, Picken, MaCrae, Daulhaus. Against Viney, Tyson, Jones, Vince, Cross. Viney and Tyson are young blokes who will be stars, Cross and Vince are both over 30, Jonesy was held all night by Picken. Until we get more midfield depth through the draft and free agency we won't win those crucial 5-10 minutes of quarters in tight games. As much as I don't want to knock Toumpas, it was a dreadful decision not getting a bonafide clearence machine in Wines along side Viney. Both could have held the inside midfield mantle for the next 10-12 years. Byrnes has to go. Too slow, no penetration, no creativity. Kent or Toumpas must come in and play his role. I see how Roosy wants Howe to play that loose man in defense but tonight he should have put Frawley down back and Howe at FF. Open up the whole forward line and let him lead out of FF. Would have been a big mismatch for their defenders. Otherwise, good night, poor result. Could have gone either way in retrospect.
  12. No amount of make up can hide the acne scars Mr. Barrett.
  13. While were praising Roosy, I spoke to the Toump who I know through a friend and he was glowing in his praise for him. Said he's a really nice bloke, great teacher, honest and just wants everyone to stick to the structures and play their roles. Also said everyone has bought into his gameplan and the way he wants everyone to go about it. At Sydney when they won their flag in 2005, blokes like Nic Fosdike, LRT, Buchanan, Luke Ablett, Craig Bolton, Jarred Crouch. All of those players weren't superstars but played their roles and got the best out of themselves. He will do exactly the same with players like Pederson, Terlich etc.
