Sacked: Brock McLean reveals booze and drug binges
dieter replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
A player's decision to binge on booze and drugs has nothing to do with how 'disgraceful', as you put it, a club is. West Coast won a flag with drug binged players... -
Height problem easily fixed: Jakovich FF, NeitZ CHB, Hardemann HBF. Febey EMERG. You gotta be cruel to be kind. A great side.
-
Neeld played 74 AFL games, for Geelong and Richmond, successful clubs. Jordan played VFL, coburg. WTF are you talking about?
-
You are blinkered, mister. Biffin was one of my favourite Demons, but not as a full back. He was only about five foot five, most of his size in the midriff. If you don't appreciate how Davey revolutionised the way football is played then I dunno what to say. I'd also add that your forward line is very big in size, Davey's pace would make it perfect. Also, Johnson was a wingman before he played B.P.
-
Aaron Davey instead of Wilson. Wight full back, the Biff was a great Full Forward but he was as slow as a wet Glenferrie oval where he has nighmares about being full back on Pierre Hudson, only saved by his mate B. Bourke who broke Huddo's leg before he could kick his 19th goal in the first half. Alan Johnson to back pocket, Yze to HFF. What a team.

If you consider that Schwarz, Jakovich and Jurrah had their careers ruined by injury or fate, you'd be inclined to wonder how great they might have been. They were all sublime in their own ways.
-
This is good stuff.

Stick to footy, Martian. You needlessly brought politics and history you clearly have a very narrow knowledge of into this. I hope your knowledge of footy is a bit less sheep like.

You must have missed the news: the USA bombed Somalia yesterday.
-
You sure you don't mean the USA? I haven't noticed China or North Korea taking anyone over, nor have they dropped a bomb on anyone, nor fired a shot. More than I can say about the USA.

There are good Langhe to be had for under $40. Perhaps beyond the exchequer of the good BBO .

I suggest you graduate to Nebbiolo...

I much prefer Germans doing Ac/Dc...

Me, I'm going to watch 'Highway to Hell', Heimatdamisch,

Where would you like to start? Mueller Neitz, Ditterich, Schwartz, Obst, the Wagner lads. Mann is a German name. Possibly Burgmann, Glass, Bill Vanthoff, Nick Pesch, Prymke, Alan KRause. JUst for starters....
-
Nice one, a bit of broadening of culture. I like it. I am, of course, German. I love the sound of German words.

More to the point, how many would he have won if he wasn't a sniper?

Stop being clinical: I have cried ever since...

Neil Crompton. Left in 1961 to play for Glenelg. He was a rover in those days, kicked 7 against North in a match in 1959. He returned in 1962 and became the tightest back pocket in the competition. Crompton also played 45 first class cricket matches for Victoria. he averaged 32 and was known as a superb fielder.

Robbo & Green Review the 2000 Qualifying Final
dieter replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The whole team surrendered that day. I wonder if Schwarz was aware. I doubt it.... What horrified me that day was that the savagery and brutality was akin to colosseum days. The day Wallis punched the crap out of Green Hardwick was holding him wide open to the punches. I don't call that sport... -
I drove him in a taxi the year after he left. I asked him why he left? He said he'd gone as far as he was ever going to go at Melbourne. He was a good player who could take you just so far. My recollection is that in one of the Finals matches he played for Carlton he spent a lot of time on the bench.

Michael Pickering. Paul Bryce. Wayne Henwood.

And he was an absolutely lousey kick.
