I, for one, remember one grandfather who was a stretcher bearer in the trenches during WW1 and whose lungs were wrecked by mustard gas, another grandfather who was wounded in France and had to have daily dressings for the rest of his life and my father who was at Tobruk and Shaggy Ridge in New Guinea and battled PTSD until the day he died.These were courageous, honourable men and deserve to be remembered in perpetuity.
