  1. Referring to him as a journo is being very kind...
  2. Of course the colour you see on your screen or monitor is heavily dependent on the settings you have for them... I won't go into the intricacies of RGB, CMYK or spot colours, or the concept of colour composition, but it is a complex subject.
  3. Sam Blease not even getting a game with Geelong at this early stage is a big concern for him. No injury and I'm told they're starting to see cracks...
  4. Don't discount Hamling, he could be something. I think it'll click for him. Dogs would love to still have Cross now.
  5. I called for both him and Moloney to be traded years ago. Few would listen...
  6. I wonder what actual onus there is on Carlton to disclose Garlett's impending legal issues...
  7. I know, but it's a situation that he has hidden from the club, and has been exacerbated by keeping it hidden. I'd punish him if nothing more than to make an example of this incident - if you keep these things hidden, it only makes it worse, kids.
  8. He deserves to be disciplined for hiding it from the club. Christ, you think we don't have enough lawyers involved at the club to ensure he deals with this situation correctly? Just an idiotic move.
  9. Probably not too different from receiving then forgetting to pay a bill, albeit a seriously important one.
  10. The AFLPA is run by fools. They'll quickly turn public opinion heavily against them.
  11. Yes, good get and news to me. Surprising when he appears to have quite a bit to do with the Geelong Cats. Dangers Sr is certainly more qualified than Scully Sr for such a position.
  12. Thanks for the report Saty, surprisingly interesting to see the comparison. Much appreciated. With all this time on your hands, maybe you could have a look at a couple of the others?
  13. From what I know, I'd say Brian Cook will not ever choose to be the CEO of another AFL club anyway.
  14. I wonder how Cale Morton would have gone if Paul Roos got hold of him a few years ago instead of a bloke like Neeld... I still think he could have been a good player, but was mismanaged.
  15. In case it's not clear, my only agenda is doing what's best for the club, and based on some of the things I know, I doubt bringing in Cook would be that.
  16. I didn't. I basically said that at his current capacity, he's still good, but his lofty reputation isn't warranted. Not now at least. I'm an advocate of not making rash decisions based on reputations forged long ago, ignoring more recent events. The cats have issues and he has been asleep at the wheel in recent seasons, undoing some of his good work. They've managed to hide it somewhat, but the Cats aren't traveling that great and haven't capitalised on their recent onfield successes.
  17. Alright, but censor the incident, and the rest of the post should have been ok, no? And fairly pertinent I'd say. The bloke's decision-making these days is sub-standard.
  18. I'm interested in this mythical land we will all get to once the "bickering" stops... What exactly do people expec of this Atlantis? Without the bickering, threads will just be shorter and die quicker. Pure potshots are crap, but honestly, most of it is just heated debate and I see very little wrong with a lot of it. Stifling discussion and argument would make this place more painful.
  19. I think this thread has already become far too Saty-centric. Are some of us worried that no one else can provide a decent training report? No offence, but he doesn't have the market cornered (maybe not for lack of trying...) Any reports of how Frost is going? Hoping to see him line up for round 1, but reports don't have me confident.
  20. It's not ideal for our contingency plan to be a match against VFL level opposition, but if the 22 or so Essendon players are still suspended and we play them, that's essentially what they will be also. I think we drew the short straw having to play a preseason match against them, but in the end it's pretty much an unavoidable circle jerk.
  21. After the 2nd tanking investigation, I told myself that if I ever bumped into Brock, I'd give him an earful. I then saw him outside the Portsea Polo as I was entering, perfect opportunity, hanging about in his own like he was waiting for someone. I looked at him for a bit while I waited for a mate to come out with my ticket, and maybe it had something to do with me being gutless, but I just couldn't do it. He just looked so... pathetic and awkward. I felt sorry for the guy. I don't think he had a flying fig of a clue what he was doing at the time, the bloke is lost.
  22. And Terlich got re-signed. In all seriousness, I'm not sure Roos was desperate to keep Terlich, but rather he wanted to ensure the kids have to earn their spot before they come into the side. Terlich may not be the best kick, but Roos is playing the long game, and a kid won't get a game until they can consistently exhibit at least the same level of toughness and commitment that Terlich does. It's about making the kids force their way in, not waltz into the side Round 1 (and this is different again to being "gifted" games early).
  23. I'd say it was probably poor vision on the video, so they've elected not to use it. It was focused on the 1 person speaking at the lectern, and wouldn't have picked up the multiple people speaking during Roos' talk. His speech was brief and nothing earth-shattering. It was interesting to hear H say that MFC had a higher standard of professionalism than Collingwood in some ways, specifically the way different departments communicated and worked as one cohesive unit.
  24. So glad we picked up Addam Maric one pick before Selwood went to West Coast...
