Can't agree with you more sylvianator! I think this whole trade period has been a wake up call for the entire team... Putting them all on notice that low standards are not acceptable! I dont think its a coincidence that player who haven't reached their potential see Johnstone, C Johnson, Miller or perhaps have had off field issues see Johnstone and Carroll have been thrown around during this week. Fire them up a bit! Fair enough, its way too early to say Bails is champion coach, but I for one are happy with the start!

Well he did start in the grand final sprint but had 6m head start... robbo had 4m... so he definately aint quick played 20 games this season which suprised me, average 22 possies... As stated its over money... think he would be worth a gamble, tho not a priority

Paul Haselby may be entering the PSD, he was the next big thing a few years ago? Might be worth a look? Sam Power has asked to be traded... Mitch Hahn & Jordan McMahon still havent signed a new contract... leaving it late arent they... One of Mark Blake or Steven King maybe on the move too... All interesting...

Like the sound of Murphy, White and Dunn (if he finally stays injury free) Murphy can pinch hit down back as well which would also be a welcome addition. Not sold on tenace, fair enough it would be bloody hard to break into the Cats midfield but whens he has played he hasnt set the world on fire... would depend on what we would have to give up. Polo, McGuane and Adock while good options are very unlikely to be up for grabs especially Polo... Is Meesen keen on the coming to us?

Keeping existing assistant coaches expecially ones who have been caretaker isnt the best option for the club or players. Coaches i would imagine (like we do) make up their mind about certain players in regards to numerous things like strengths, weaknesses, potential etc etc. And by keeping existing coaches then these opinions/knowledge will remain at the club. These opinions havent gained success thus far... Maybe one Brad Millers confidence has suffered at the hands of previous coach/s and the previous coach/s were wrong with how they dealt with him. Therefore... . Bringing in a fresh coach, brings a fresh approach and new opinions can be forged. The players get another oppotunity to prove there worth, so Miller - (he started brightly and has stagnated in recent seasons) get another crack. A whole new coaching staff may reinvigorate him (we can only hope and pray)... Riley leaving via another club is better than paying out his contract. I too liked his press conferences and his humor! Thank you Mark for all your hard work!

Welcome DB! May your appointment bring us great continued success! If this guy can beat over 100+ candiates with the calibre as Sheedy, Bond, Mckenna etc then I can't argue with that! For those who want Sheedy for his marketing potential then whats not to say that Bailey cant sell ice cream to the eskimos? Daniher wasn't much chop when he arrived but we soon saw a mighty transformation in The Reverend... And if Connolly jumps on board, he has proven record in building membership levels which would be a bonus. Trust the board and get behind DB in 2008 and beyond!

Suprised by your start but injuries to your backs didnt help, youll have a strong year i think. Being a Liverpool fan ive been encouraged by the start thus far our weakness in the past. By all reports we were robbed by a shockin penalty decision against chelski, will have to watch the highlights tonight. Man City are looking good, and no matter what Sven did with England, hes a proven club manager with some cash. Chelsea will rebound, they were light on for defenders last season which cost them dearly. Though they will lose Drogba and Essien etc to the africans cup so that may hurt them. But overall itll be closer than last season (with any luck)... What do you think?

I think the article was well written and I like the passion behind his reason to apply for the coaching position. But I just worry that if he couldn't get a team that has more money, better resources, bigger membership (though arguably due to him) and perhaps a better playing list firing, how is he going to manage getting the dees up and running?

Collingwood were an average team playing above itself... look at where they are at now... a genuine premiership side shouldnt decline so quickly, if the team is built and managed properly and has the quality players they were supposed to have then it can be maintained for a few seasons. They did play well in those 2 years however... * that hurt me to say that * redman

Scott Lucas for mine, hes a one footed big man who kicks the odd long goal in my opinion Has the odd quality game but doesnt do enough for his overall rating IMO redman
