  1. Just watched the last quarter and I could swear after the siren he pumps his fist through the roof of the interchange and shatters it!

    Funny stuff.

  2. Only if you want to use the ban to cover up our real issues. Twitter has nothing to do with our performances.

I would hope the MFC never go down the path of banning mobile phones or twitter.

  3. Not expecting it will make a lick of difference, just simply my opinion, I could not give a crap what sports people and so called celebrities think about political events, as they simply aren't qualified to pass judgement.

Are you serious? Not qualified to pass judgment on political events?

I could understand if you merely said you ignore political opinions of "sports people", but I would be interested to know what "qualifies" a person to pass judgment on political events in your eyes. Everyone is qualified to pass judgment and it would be ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

To be clear, I am not suggesting everyone is equally educated in political matters.

  4. Back to the point, my initial thread should not have been locked. The moderator who locked it should put their hand up.

I would have thought it was fairly obvious who locked it. Have you even looked back at the thread?

As for your initial post in this thread... The irony is alarming.

You start a thread complaining about how your thread should not have been locked/deleted because this forum is about "free speech". Your then go on to condemn Jones for having an opinion on twitter. Free speech is good enough for you, but not for Jones? Get over yourself.

  5. Have the cheersquad hold up a huge 2 handled Air Jurrah banner with a small www.airjurrah.com written on the bottom.

I spose then you have to whip up a www.airjurrah.com page with links to the products.

I don't think its a good idea to be honest. Sure, people on here can buy them and wear them, but our apparel sponsor is New Balance. Our own cheer squad should not be advertising products associated with Nike trademarks.

  6. Read rpfc's post again, then tell me which stats he looked at to see shirked contests, false bravado and short steps. I'd love to know who keeps these statistics.

Read my post again, then tell me where I specifically referred to rpfc.

I was referring to the 'Changes for next week' thread that appears every week, where every second poster wants Dunn dropped. Thankfully, our football department is not so stupid.

As for what rpfc alleges though, I disagree entirely with allegations of shirked contests and the like. Likewise, our football department doesn't see it.

  7. Finally, someone else who sees the impact that Dunn has. I swear some of the people who continually call for him to be dropped must just look at the stats.

He does a heap of good work off the ball and I too would be very surprised to see him dropped.

  8. Stupid thread. Not only is it far too early to call on these kids, but what you are trying to prove is true of every club.

Go ahead and do an analysis of the other clubs and you will find every club has had good and bad picks in that time.

  9. And is that $500,000 gross or net? The marginal tax rate for each dollar above $180,000 is 45%, plus Medicare Levy of 1 1/2%, plus another 1% Medicare surcharge, plus the flood levy of 1%. $500,000 x 48 1/2% = $242,500. The net gain may only be $257,500. That's a big deal if you are only getting $50 - $80,000, but the extra money loses impact if you're on $500,000 or so.

Well, you're assuming he doesn't have a decent accountant :)

  10. Agreed...Melburnians do not understand Humidity. 90 points is a top effort, the final Q we smashed them.

Did the humidity disappear in the fourth quarter? I thought that was the reason GC got on top of us in the third? After all, you said they have been training in these conditions for a year... maybe the humidity only affects one team at a time? Is that it?

  11. Carlton: 171-52 (119)

    Bulldogs: 122-51 (71 pts)

    Demons: 159-69 (90 pts)

13 individual goal kickers, 8 multiples goal kickers. I'm very happy with the forward line minus Watts (back to Casey).

    6 Disposals, 5 marks in a quarter isn't a bad effort for a sub.

Subs are getting a rough ride. It has become a transition to VFL.
