4 - 5 years away from making the final 8

Unfortunately we are now in the same rebuilding stage as Hawthorn, Carlton and Bulldogs were 4 years ago. We need to slowly get rid of 10 - 15 players and start afresh.... We need to bottom out before this team has any hope of going anywhere.

Some heads at board level have to roll for leaving Daniher at the helm and not rebuilding 3 years ago.

Was Daniher that bad. the new coaching staff doesnt seem to have made many changes, and our skill level is school boy standard

Yep add an extra year onto the rebuilding coz mark riley couldnt tank one [censored] game.

Already cost us 1 priority pick, no 17? in last years draft.. will probably cost us the no 1 pick this year.

A total embarrassment, clean the list out start with Carrol, Yze, Miller sack them now, send them to play for an under 5 girls soccer side, no doubt theyll still get slaughtered

We currently do not have a player who would get into the top 50 in the AFL.... That is scary....

Nathan Jones.

Yes. Read my last post in another thread. Daniher and is moronic team of recruiters put together a team of hacks.

imagine if we'd won one less game last year...we'd end up with pick 1 n 2

So true. The fact we won that game highlights our unprofessionalism!

Doubt we'd have one in the top 100...

Jones would make top 100 easy. He might even scrape top 50. Hasn't missed a beat since he debuted late 2006.

We cant afford to rebuild. Hawks, Carlton have massive supporter bases and $. It would be nice but it wont happen. No more melb if that occures. And 4-5 years is overexadurating.

Are you serious? 4-5 years minimum... WE HAVE NO YOUNG KPP's coming through

NONE

NOT 1

Unless we trade for Lance Franklin we have a long hard time ahead of us.

No good blaming the back line when the team plays like that.FORWARD line 2 goals to 3/4 time , top heavy,no crumbers , couldn't lay a tackle because they couldn'tcatch anyone.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
