He's got red and blue blood running through his veins.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up as being our next President.

I think I'll be very happy for him to remain in his current position for many a year. He knows our predicament and he really is a Demon through and through. Yet he has a grounding to enable him to distinguish sentiment from reality and urgnecy from haste.

Im glad he understands the "Brand" need to drive our resurgence. To me this is an ackowledgement that passing around the plate to the limited members time and time again will get no where. He obviously understands the rebuild ( of clubs renaissance) must come from the club itself, that it must be the club revitalising its relevance to the game and increasing its worth.

What I find truly encouraging is he must think its possible!! Many ought to take solace in that. A batttle hardened veteran thinks it can be done :)

Slowly the Titanic turns away from the ice-field !! B)

For the first time in a long while I have seen something positive come out of Melbourne; it makes me feel proud that he is one of ours and cares so much.

I agree RobbieF - if anyone can get the Melbourne factions back together Connolly can.

2008 will be a very interesting year and I believe more upside than some or most may expect

Demonglory...two posts in and you have already uttered what i consider the truism. I , however think it may catch a lot unawares as to where the upside comes from ...none the less.. I agree.. INTERESTING is definitely the word I'd choose. :)

Connolly has a great football brain and I'm rapt that he's back at the club, he's actually a mate of my old mans back from their Rusden days

They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
