You know..the more you think about it.. the more it actually seems like a workable thing. Imagine the milage ( pun intended ) youd get out of it !! Good bang for buck !! ( Im presuming) A 20t tram IS going to be in your face !!

GET ON BOARD !!

great Idea.. Make it SO !!

I respect your desire to promote MFC but i don't think any club would go for tram idea.

Wrapping up trams are very very costly and you won't make even a dent in terms of a return.

You might argue it would create publicity but so would a naked man running around Flinders with a Melbourne jumper yelling at the top of his voice "it's our 150th birthday".

How about some simple viral 'scam' ads that could be posted on youtube. Use players and make them funny and interesting. Viral ads are powerful and cheap. We could recreate famous moment from our 150 years.

Maybe have a big birthday bash where we could play a exhibition match including our past great players. Having our past MFC greats and current players have a run around might turn a few heads in the media. Robbie Flower putting it lace out to Neita would be awesome.

We should target the kids so when the Olympic facilities finish, have a revolving door where schools take the demon excursion. Come down and see the boys train, do rehab, have a q & a etc etc

We have two dinners planned for the year to celebrate the 150 and the first one is at Crown on the Queens Birthday Saturday $500 per person 1200 people announcing the 150 best ever players and the launch of the book, Melb Symphony Orchestra etc.

Second one is on the actual Birthday in July $250 per head to be held in the MCC mambers dining room, for 500 people.

Both are out of the price range of the average supporter but I hope they are well attended.

The other event is the big walk to the G from Federation Square on the Queens Birthday game day.

B/E approximately 950 members if no corporate sponsorship...not hard

He can only do this once...tram goes up & down, down & up past a demographic with deep pockets

This is a good addition, and one such campaign has already gone around the traps and probably done some good, but with a tram you dont have to be logged on to the Internet!

Its good, it taps into the people who have dipped into their pockets, the tram though catches the attention of the people who haven't

Also a good idea...lets use it next year

Im not suggesting it for publicity for the sake of it.. A tram is a roving billboard.. That in itself has merit.. many organisations etc use them. But its the positive knock on you can generate. .The opportunity for the team on board etc media shoot etc.. it itself generates awareness and publicity far beyond that which the original cost might achieve..its leverage !!

Have no problem with youtbe etc.. go for it.. I dont see it as this OR that...as much as everything we can !!

A dinner ..thats nice.. preaching to the converted.. its a warm fuzzy feelgoody thing.. wont generate any real awareness.

A big walk.. nice idea..buyt how is that particulalry different from any game day ?? Hav eto be super organised to have any other effect.. but hey...its an idea.. Now if you could do it in a fashoin that from above showed the new 150 logo.. with media coverage...now thats getting somewhere.. even if just say 150 special picked folk... all the way from Fed Square into /onto teh G.. etc.. a little showmanship.. :) Starting to grow on me.

Thing is if you could say get a slightly cheaper deal for a normal say Z3 tram..maybe for ( m guesing ) 75g.. get 5 corporates to fund it at 15 a pop..thats beer money to them.. worth million in impact to us..Is seen by Millions..

hey look..there's Melbourne theyre really into this 150 th thing.. yeah..theyre happening etc.. Creates a positive seed in peoples mind.

We all know whats happening.. we need to preach to the unconverted.. Its just one leg of a stool possibly. :)

A M-march..could happen :)

Although it wouldn't be wise to feature current players, it would be great to see some sort of legends match. would be a nice way of getting some of our past stars to have a role in helping the club

I dont know what the go is with carts on teh G.. maybe 20 or so carts.. ferryuing say 40 odd champs of past years.. around ground.. terminating near the race.. the olideis could form a respective guard of honour as the new legions run onto.. one era celebrating the other.. respecting the other

Lots of things are possible..

keep em coming :)

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
