Simon Buckley

Jace Bode

Isaac Weetra

Chris Johnson

Matt Warnock

I think Buckley will play quite a few games with his bigger frame and quick pace, but still abit uncertain about his future for the club, who else agrees? Bode will make it I think as a quck HBF or BP player and will provide the dees with alot of drive out of the back line in the future. Will never be a star or do really flashy things but I really hope he makes it as servicable player. Weetra I think may surprise a few if he becomes fit and should aim to really start playing good footy for the Sandy 1s and push for senior selection. I think this is it for Chris Johnson either he makes it as an AFL player or he gets de-listed at the end of the year. I also think Warnock is not just up for AFL footy, hopefully im proved wrong.

Bode is pacey and seems to have good vision. I reckon he might be rotated thru back and midfield. Its nice to mix up the team from time to time to create opposition mismatches and Bode may be part of freeing up Green to play up forward YAY.

Buckley I'm 50/50 at the moment. Haven't seen enough of him.

CJ may benefit from playing more consecutive matches and getting more on-field time. I have a gut feeling he may be a confidence player ala Miller

Weetra -Just dunno

Warnock-See Weetra

Bode - No star, but up to AFL standard.

Buckley - Depth player, but scope for improvement.

C. Johnson - Make or break year. Has some attributes, but doesn't appear to believe that he belongs out there.

Weetra - Never seen him play. Was a speculative pick to start with.

Warnock - Definitely not up to AFL standard. Was gobsmacked when we upgraded him to the senior list. Was never a KPP.

buckley could have a breakout year, and make a HBF or the wing his own, his pace and size always help

Bode and CJ. At opposite ends of the spectrum. CJ has bucketloads of talent and fits perfectly into modern footy. Bode isn't an attractive footballer at all, so which one would you pick to have played more serviceable footy?

Whatever talent CJ is certainly not in the bucket loads and at present he does not fit into modern footy.

Both CJ and Bode have yet to demonstrate that they can sustain the performances required for AFL. I admire the way Bode has work up from the fringe to at least make AFL. CJ is a profound disappointment. 2008 will find them out one way or another.

It will certainly be interesting to see how DB structures the forward line. It appears that there will be intense competition for the crumming forward roles (s), an area that we have lacked in over the past few years.

In addition to Davey we have three other legitimate young crumming forwards on the list

"Magic" Maric

Wonaeamirri (could be promoted if he "does a Flash")

I believe that Flash will spend more time in the midfield which could enable two of these three guys playing forward (most likely Maric and Weetra).

Daniher used to like playing three tall forwards, usually Neitz, Holland/Jamar/Johnson and Miller at CHF.

I had high hopes for CJ. It will be interesting to see what role he plays within the team in 2008. Personally I can't see him playing midfield and he failed whenever Daniher tried him forward. I think he is consigned to playing half back, where he has played very well for Sandringham.

If he can't play HBF, he won't make it.

Bode: also a chance to get a spot on a HBF, think he will become a handy player at best

Johnson: last year to impress. After last years NAB cup i thought he would be our big improveer in '07, but failed to deliver. Not expecting anything this time around either

Weetra: havent seen much of this kid, would want to be showing a fair bit of promise for sandy 1s this year at least

Warnock: not up to AFL football either. Depth at best

Cant see CJ, Weetra, or Warnock surviving on the list much longer. I believe Buckley can be in our best 22 by years end, and Bode should provide a bit of speed to our backline thorughout the year

cj is lost at AFL level. when ive seen him he appears on the soft side, unsure of his role, spectator is the word im looking for.

I am also of the opinion that Buckley will make it in the AFL. He impressed me in the 1st wizard cup game (I think vs Tigers earlier this year), and it surprised me that he took a while to get a game. But when he finally did get his cance, I don't think he did too much wrong. Am I right in saying next season will only be his 3rd year on the list? If so, he is still on track to develop into a solid player for us.

I've seen enough of CJ at senior level and for Sandy for me to put him in the bucketloads category simply for his kick. He's tallish, can play footy, is smart enough... Maybe he's not TJ-like (too soon?) in terms of talent, but then who is? And his skill set fits the modern game nicely I reckon... Tallish, can play both ends, and ANYONE with a nice penetrating lovely shaped left boot should be given every opportunity.

Perhaps it's the fact that he DOES fit into modern footy, being moulded as a utility, that has made him linger on one season longer than he should have. That and the fact that DB will take two seasons at least to clear out the dead-wood on the list left over after ND. I was happy with our delistings, and while we would have liked to get rid of him at the end of 2007, there were more pressing delistings to think about.

But yes, ultimately who cares... 2007 will be it for him. He's been given opportunities... He'll CERTAINLY be given more with guys like Ward and Brown freeing up positions... If he can't take a place in the side and hold it with two hands, he'll be among the first delisted. And if he's on the chopping block you can be damn sure no-one will want to trade for him.

If modern footy is VFL standard then yes he has it in bucketloads.

If its AFL he does not and has proven nothing IMO.

As BBP, pre season scratch match football is a very lightweight version of the real thing.

IMHO CJ should be played in the same type role as his father. Running back-pocket.
