Travis for Jude Bolton.

I'd do that any day of the week.

Bolton- body on the line. consistent, hard at it.

Trav- weak, soft, inconsistent, flashy.

Wake up. He's 27, and 28 in March. If he's going cheap maybe, but obviously he isn't, and CAC won't be interested in a 28 year old midfielder.

exactly diablo...wake up mate

What do you mean? He's as old as TJ and probably has a similar amount of footy left... what do we get out of that swap that will actually help us build for our future?

Seriously, if you think Jude Bolton is the answer to any problem that we have you are delusional. So we trade a 27 year old flawed genius for a 27 year old workhorse. Swings and roundabouts. He'll give us 3 years of good service and then what? TJ could go along way towards getting us another decent 1st round pick, and with that we can pick up somebody who is likely to be a big part of our future. Jude Bolton would be a bandaid solution.

TJ + Miller + 21 to Sydney for Bolton + 11 is a tad more realistic and I would do it without too much hesitation. If Bolton comes packaged with pick 11 I will take him, but by himself I do not think he is worth a player who we could conceivably bag a decent pick for, because if we think about it the pick is worth more to us.

Reported on Channel 7 news that Sydney rejected our offer of a straight swap of TJ for Bolton.

Well. Time for me to eat humble pie. Evidently CAC is interested. I stand by my trade above or they can get fluffed.

I wouldnt trade johnstone for a pick. Despite the fact that we may be rebuilding, getting a young up-and-comer that we have to work hard on will not help us. For the quality of Johnstone we should be looking for a player who is an established player in the afl. From then on, it is up to the club to dedcide who to go after. preferably not a pick.

We are not going to challenge next year. I expect that we'll be back in the 8 with the list we have, but '08 will be a 'progress' year for us. '09 is a possibility, but '10 is more likely. Any draft pick we take this year will have 2-3 years into him by that stage, and should be becoming a productive member of the team, especially if he is a 1st round pick.

I know Jude Bolton has plenty of a appeal. Hell, he is about the only Sydney player I've legitimately liked from the past 5 years. But we need to realise that our turn is 2-3 years away, and Bolton will be on his last legs by then, particularly as he is an in-and-under type.

If Sydney will not do a TJ for Bolton swap, ie. if they want a pick with him or something, then it is too much to give, in my opinion.

Sydney still have a realistic shot at top 4 if they can pick up a few key players. Would be wise for them to keep bolton AND try to go after a travis type.

Given CAC and Baileys statements, it would be suprising for a 28 year old to make the move to the dees.

I think bolton is great, but i just cant see it happening.

did i ever say we had a problem?

trav is the same age...exactly

we arent trading any picks for bolton

we arent hindering any chances of picking up youngsters

so whats the problem?

We WOULD be hindering our chances of snaring youngsters when you consider that TJ could possibly pick us up a first round pick from a side who are on the brink of a flag challenge. That is my only problem with Bolton.

If it's 1:30pm on Friday, and there is nobody willing to part with an early pick for TJ, I WOULD do a straight swap, but it seems Sydney are not interested in that.

i hear what you're saying. But i don't think trav is going to land us a first round pick.

Unfortunately, it's looking less and less likely.

We really are desperate to get rid of TJ, aren't we?

I'd hope we can get something better for him, but it seems unlikely.

Alot of Swans fans are acting like he has been rubbish the last season and a half. He might be finished.

Has anyone mentioned yet that Paul Roos rejected a straight swap of Bolton for Johnstone?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
