Best Poster Awards? - IS this a good idea?

Recommended Posts

I can't remember if we've ever done this before but perhaps we could have a vote for the best poster to encourage good healthy debate (and the odd argument)

Edit - Crap accidently posted it too early

Do you guys like this idea, if so suggest some categories, here are soem of my suggestions:

- best poster

- most entertaining poster

- best thread

- best mod

With the winner/s getting a special message uner the username or something corny like that

Great idea.

Who can hook that up?

Personally, I'm pro- anything that encourages people to try and use their brains a little before they post. I'm keen on the idea of best poster.

Best mod award though? I thought you all hated us all? :D

I should so win that award... in fact, we're only having these awards if I'm guaranteed the win ;)

Jarka, do you want to maybe create some guidelines?

How we vote, when does voting close, etc etc...

And if you are all keen on doing this, please PLEASE don't let this turn into a bickering b***h fest. If it turns nasty, or if anyone makes negative personal comments about other posters, we'll delete the thread.

Sounds fair?

I like it.

The winner becomes a moderator.

The losing moderator gets relegated. (Deemocracy in action!) :)

I'm all for it but I wanna see the stats <_< ...........................but hang on, apparently the stats lie, so I wanna to see the votes <_< ..........................but who is voting, do they know what they are talking about. I mean do they know what OTHER people are talking about.

I also wanna see the definitions for 'best' and 'entertaining' ;)

Here is the first post that deserves and award.

Personally, I'm pro- anything that encourages people to try and use their brains a little before they post

I recon I am in with a shot for the most sarcastic poster award. ;)

Here are a few sure things:

Yze-Magic for most outrageous predictions

Rhino for most argumentative

Ash for best 'foreign' poster :o (no I am not racist)

Jarka for most annoying avatar

Could be an idea to keep us entertained in the post season....

I think we should have one for "Effort"

Am I in the running for my translation of the Dean Bailey/5aa interview???

LOL :D

I think my Queens Birthday Blood Bath goes alright. ;)

Oh and I also think we should have one for best avatar! :D

I would have to be in with a shot of winning the 'spends everyday at work on demonland reading threads but NEVER or VERY RARELY posts' award!

Jaded, I'm happy to run this thing and I agree with you, it's not meant to be an avenue for a whinge (me included ;) ).

What do you think of my suggested categories? I'm happy not to do the mod one but I thought it would be a good avenue to give you guys some recognition of the work you've done.

So to recap my suggested categories are:

- best poster

- most entertaining poster

- best mod

The voting would be that each poster will give a 3 - 2 - 1 nomination (3 being the best, 2 second best, 1 third) over a set time period, say over a one week period. Each week of the finals we'll run each category, for example:

1st week - Most entertaining

2nd week - Best Mod

3rd week - Best Poster

and finishing just in time for the GF - probably announce winners GF day. However if the mods want to pick the categories I have no probs with that, just send me a pm and I'll run with it. One person one vote!!

Toad33, I promise I'll change my avatar, I agree I've had it far too long but at the time it suited my mood...

Sounds good to me Jarka.

Might want to add best avatar as well, since a few posters have mentioned it.

Just set up a separate thread with the first category whenever you want to start, and when the allocated voting time is up, I'll lock the thread and you can count the votes.

Sweet Jaded, I'll start the first vote on Sunday night to give people some time to read this thread. One more suggestion, to make it easier to count the votes is it possible to delete all non voting posts or would that be too much work?

Cheers

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
