So the mighty Reds are actually staking their claim this year, so many times over the last 4-5 years i've thought "maybe we'll actually challenge for the premiership" and now we're looking the goods. Winning 2-3 over Man City when they've got the deepest pockets in the sport at their home AND after being 2-0 down is an awesome result and i really think the player have the belief, the key will be whether they can maintain this over the whole season and the games against the like of Chelski, Arsenal, and Man U must yeild points.

Torres you are a star!

Good to see another Bolton fan on here.

Good win over the Hammers last night. Good to see us play some decent football. Matty Taylors strike was a cracker.

Up the Wanderers, ey Condemned.

Taylors goal was awesome!

I have had fun giving it to my mates over the green howler

I fell asleep for 15 minutes and they had slammed on 3 goals, could not believe it.

Half time for Bolton Vs Blackburn 0-0, Bolton have been the better team but we have not capitalized, pissing down rain so the game is a bit sloppy and people are falling down all over the shop.

Come on you whites!

Ironic a Melbourne supporter laughing at someone else for being last, but yes, I go for Spurs.

Anyone see their 95th minute penalty attempt? Off one upright, rolled across the goalline hit the other upright, then bounced out, another Stoke guy had a shot at goal, drilled it into the crossbar

2 points from 8 games...better be careful Spurs or you'll be playing at places like Southampton, Norwich or Preston...at least there will be a few local derbies against Crystal Palace, Charlton and QPR

Martin Jol must be wearing a very wry smile

Heard a joke the other day...What's the difference between Tottenham and a triangle???

The triangle has 3 points

Go Gunners!...3-1 V Everton

lol sorry, i follow the italian league more but i really can't help but laugh because you guys actually

have a good team (unlike melbourne) and your on the bottom...maybe things will change??

what do you reckon about ramos though?....if it was up to me i'd give him the boot

I still fail to see how we have a good team.

We lost three A grade strikers, and replaced them with rubbish. Losing in the process a few average-good midfielders, who whilst were not world class, always seemed to know how to scrap through games and understood the EPL gameplay.

I can't really see it changing before January, interestingly we're two wins away from being clear of the drop zone and it would all be forgotten. But again, i can't see it happening. Think we have Arsenal next, woohoo.

Not sure abotu Ramos, the squad isn't really his fault, though i miss the days of Jol when our team produced so many good English kids, and about 3-4 England Internationals

Yea True, but it's not as if your a bottom team, you actually do still have some quality their.

Oh and i bet Jol has a nice big smirk on his face, considering how he is doing at Hamburg aswell

Ah well we'll just have to wait and see

Spurs have Udinese away this Thursday in the UEFA Cup...then Bolton at home next Sunday

I thought we play the Gunners soon Zeb?

Ah! Thought it was the 29th, then assuemd as that's midweek i must've been wrong. Well, at last i'll miss that

45..Arsenal V Spurs Thursday 30th October.....

Might be the game that turns Spurs season around.....

Well half our points this season came after being a goal down at the Bridge, HALF! So i guess you never know

1-1 at half time in the NUFC v Man City.

Rob styles is back to his best decision making, sending Beye off and giving a penalty to city for a cleary fantastic tackle that got the ball and missed the player.

How this hack gets a game as a ref is beyond me.

2-1 Newcastle..Richard Dunne own goal in the 63rd minute..

15 minutes to go

wow...Harry Redknapp to manage Spurs...

Ramos...G O N E

Haha Ramos gone, who didn't see that coming?

A win tonight I'm feeling...

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.
