The Age and Neitz

Well wasn't I disappointed this morning when I opened up the Age newspaper, went to the sports lift out and on the front page is a picture of an Adelaide Crows player - who cares if the Roo has retired (taking zip away from him as he was a great player).

However, The Age is a Victorian newspaper and they sponsor the Melbourne Football Club - my umbrage is....

WHY WASN'T THERE A FRONT PAGE PICTURE OF NEITA

And the Age is our shorts sponsor - what a great chance to have a piccie of Neita and his shorts showing The Age

Why didn't Steve Harris (ex editor of the Age) ensure Neita's picture was on the front page?

Lift your game Age Newspaper

GO DEES

half page pic on the back of the sun and a big double page spread for the man, i also bought the age and was really disappointed.

Should have, and regardless of win or defeat should be on front tomoz.

Defeat hahahaha AS IF!!!

Nice interview done by Gary Lyon in today's HS:

I found this question particularly interesting, seeing as we always talk about it:

That's admirable, is there someone there to take over? (as captain)

James McDonald has really stood up as a leader, I think he could do a really good job.

He's 31.

He's 31 but he's got a few years left in him and he's playing his best footy at the moment. Brock McLean can stand up and do that, he needs to keep playing good footy and get his body right.

So there you have it, the great man himself has spoken. Also, Neita has mentioned this week that he grew into the role of captain, which is exactly what Brock will have to do when the time is right.

i would have thought that anyone who bought the "age" on any day would be bracing themselves for disappointment

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.

The Demons were sloppy all day and could not stop the run and carry of the fast moving Hawthorn as the Hawks cruised to an easy 36 point win. Is the season over yet?
