Featured Replies

Wow, I just realised you're Rob Harding, my favourite demons supporter on SEN, i'm Houdeani on world sport over night forums by the way. Big loss to the station, hope you enjoy your new work anyway... :(

Great news man :D

I'll cya before u go.

Gonna be lonely at Melb games without you :( You will be missed

demons 32 and bWell...

I have recorded your site names and you will get an invite by pm when the next game comes up...

Thanks champ.

I'm 6'3" - Will only play forward though. Forward pocket will suite fine.

Well done Hards. Your record as a captain/coach will be hard to beat.

Good luck in the US and depending on where you go you may be able to have a kick over there at a similar standard ;)

 I am too heavy a smoker to play footy, i run for about 100m and need to have a nap afterwards, i used to be quite fit, doing athletics and all, but im just a skinny lazy 27yr old now

"I am too heavy a smoker to play footy..."

hey, AKA...

we also need organisers and helpers...

(dare I mention goal umpires ??)...

to qualify you need to be able to sit and watch, and drink large amounts of beer after the game...

i realised the same thing, heard you talking with finey on monday night!!

btw, how can you stand that bloke, his hatred for melbourne runs very deep, still hurting from brocky killing them last year i reckon

Watching and drinking beer IS one thing i can do and well for that matter!!!

Count me in

"drinking beer IS one thing i can do"

hey, AKA...

your name has been recorded...

I hope you do not regret this decision, since there are duties to be performed before the drinking begins...

Duties such as what?

And where will it be held?

Hards, you are going to be missed. ESPN is the US will be an amazing opportunity for you overseas. I wish you well with it.

Cactus and I will miss your rolled up sleeves and final quarter goal contribution....

Rollo: Put me down. I'm IN - same position in the forward pocket. I'll have friends on standby with cameras/videos etc.

I'm actually looking forward to the next one or few Demonland/Demonology can organise. I play men's comp tennis on thursday night and rec/indoor footy on monday nights so am working harder and harder on fitness and endurance. I want to better my 3 goal contribution from last time...any idea when the next one might be?

Wise: It will be good to have you back in November.

Good luck Hards...

P.S - For all you guys that never played or new of these games, check out Demonlanders as we belt out the song after the win. See signature below for link.

"Duties such as what?

well, AKA, there are no public toilets, so the carrying of chamber pots is envisaged...

we have only played at glenferrie oval so far, but worse venues can be imagined... ;)

Thanks for all the kinds words guys, especially from those that have heard my work on air, much appreciated.

Rollo I'll organise with Cactus to have him handle the Big Carl Trophy, as he lives not far from me.

Thanks again guys.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
