Am I living in a bygone era or are there fines for taking a player out of the team that you list on the ground? Was that ever a thing?

Just last night Naicos was a very late out (half an hour before the match started).

Do the pies get fined for that? I thought I remembered some thing about stopping clubs playing funny buggers with fines but maybe I’m losing my mind.

Should be an absolute cracker of a game of we play like last week's second half.

Planned to go down from cosmopolitan Wollogong with my son to wean him of Usa Nba ( he's six feet three and plays it so it's fair enough)

But really trying to get him to appreciate the greatest game in the world.

And I'm not bias.

It's faster than soccer and has just as immaculate goals kicked just much more of them.

It's physical. It's highly skilled. The banana kick for example.

It's the most democratic. Spargo tackling Sam Draper.

It's got the right about of biffo with nobody being killed, for the blood lusty.

Total athletes. Could probably play a lot of different sports quite successfully.

Anyway due to the cost of living we decided we couldn't afford it Sadly, I know I'm not alone.

Putting two kids through uni is draining. Especially when they live at home. Sure they work but still struggle financially ( like me)

I bought an i30 diesel wagon five years ago and was laughing how much I was saving. Now I'll be lucky to drive it soon.

I actually only got a cheap interstate mship even though I Probably won't use the tix. I'll see if I can transfer them to someone here.

But so looking fwd to this . Kayo....my gullty indulgence...... but necessary.

I'm so glad Turner is back in. Lever's form was good but Petty was average.

And woo hoo, Milkshake is back.

Jvr has gone back into his shell after his thunderous start so Milkshake and Fritta with a few others there, should be interesting and needed.

I'm glad Tracca is out because for some reason our ex players always do a number on us.

They are a good side and we can't afford to get jumped.

Win this and it really shows that we are proper competitors this year.

Hopefully our 43 point turn around has filled the team with heaps of self belief and we take home the chocolates.

I think we will have to play KP in the middle for the whole game.

He was devastating on the ball against carlton and seems to see ball...get ball...use ball well.

A genuine superstar who I don't even believe is at the peak of his prowess yet.

Jvr needs a good game. I'm hoping at least 3 goals. He can't afford not to impact another game as it will really hurt his confidence which is probably low after such a big start.

Looking for big games from Chin, Windsor, Steele...who is a gun, Fritta( again...shades of GF Fritta,) Tmac and mainly Sparrow.

The latter probably played his best game in years.

I can't say I have a great deal.of faith in him which seems harsh after his last efforts. I know he's not lazy...his tackle counts is always high. In other words he tries hard.

But as I've posted numerous times he's just not a ball magnet. I've suggested he's best played fwd. He's good for a couple of goals and an accurate kick. Maybe a sub.

But if he plays consistently he didot will be a team changer. Alas he's 25 and we've seen a handful of games like this from him.

I've said before he's like playing with a man down and under Goody was always in. Maybe we lacked depth but I, and not a few here, thought he did not warrant so many games.

I hope so much he mocks this sentiment from me on Sunday.

So a big game against the number one team in the comp and at home, thank goodness.

I think we are a genuine chance.

And after the first quarter against carlton last week, I had almost given the year away.

Good Lord what a fairweather supporter.

Forgive me oh ye Gods of oval ball with great sense of humor in this time of footy long weekend heaven.

For I no know not what I do nor say.

But may the ball bounce true and straight for us, stick to our hands when marking, guide it always through the big sticks, rain down accurate handballs and curse all maggots making poor decisions against us.

And all the Mfc fans said , Amen.

Ps..I haven't watched all of the last two games except last week. Has Jvr been rucking unlike the first game and if so, has this possibly impacted his game? 6 goals then zip...zip is very odd. Granted , I think delivery v St Kilda was very different. The game seemed faster and there was lots of room fwd. But what's changed?

I really thought he turned the corner but if he fails to fire again, id be worried. Hopefully I'm totally wrong and he has a ripper. Let's hope it's a cornucopia of goals for us from several forwards.

I remember that was a thing at some point in the past, so you’re not losing your mind. Well, you might be losing your mind but this isn’t evidence of it. 😂

I guess clubs can argue that the player was deemed fit to play right up until just before the game 🤷‍♀️

If you have to make changes for injury, Turner in for Jiath and Melksham for Cross is a pretty good deal.

I'm not going to pretend I'm confident, but I'm certainly going into this game on the hunt. The expectations basically make this a free swing.

Sorry for babbling rfpc. Been on new arthritis meds which have kept me awake for two nights.

I've gone somewhat ga ga.

Footy is somewhat calming thank goodness.

Have a great weekend.

Try not to watch the news and enjoy our win on Sunday.

Sleep deprivation

Considering Melksham had 11 scoring shots and kicked 5 goals against the Suns last time, I reckon he's a pretty good 'In'.

Turner in for Jiath is an upgrade.

I'm not sure what we do with Kolt. When he went out of the centre bounce/stoppage we dominated with Sparrow, Steele and Pickett in there.

I absolutely hate that Rowell is back, but I'm clinging onto hope that he's underdone.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
