Welcome @tilly18 to the list of winners.

Answer to be revealed around 1pm today.

In the meantime, here's a final hint (and it's a gimme) - the solution is not as difficult as it INITIALLY appears.

How about if I mention that the other coach is Sam Mitchell?

Far out. I shouldn’t even have been selected for this match.

Even with this gimme clue I can’t see the answer 😭

YAY! With 10 minutes ‘til the deadline, I’ve finally worked it out!

Never mind me, I’m just thinking aloud.

Yes, @Ghostwriter has reaped the rewards for her perseverance and becomes one of the Famous Five.

Matthew 20:16 - "So the last will be first ..."

The solution to the teaser is that the last letter of each player's first name is also the first letter of their surname.

Tom (Thomas) Sims was a naughty ruse. I don't know if it made any difference to people's thinking or not.

The baton has now been passed to @Little Goffy who has his next effort ready to go (or so I am assured).

Well done Ghosty - I thought you might "phone a friend"?

Didn’t need to, Bangerz.

Although I did toy with the idea of PM-ing @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew in a “phone a friend” manner. 🤭

Considered you as well but knew you wouldn’t budge. 😁

Oooh, a naughty ruse indeed you cad!

In about four minutes my wife and baby son will come out the arrivals gate after six weeks away, so there will be some delay while airport staff figure out how to restore me from a pile of quivering jelly on the floor.

Did I ever mention I love youse guys? Cos I love youse guys. Even Cranky and Pickett are all right, y'know.

We love you too, Little Goffy ❤️

Enjoy the reunion with your wife and baby Sam (littler Goffy?)

Damn I can’t believe I missed this. I’ve been caught up with family stuff, but do love your puzzles @Demonstone .

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the ‘G. • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
