Why would you drop him?

Why is he always the first one in the gun?

Has done very well with his limited ground time and possession count.

No youngster deserves to get dropped while our injury list is so long. We have nothing to gain by dropping them.

Haha I said it with tongue in cheek as he does cop a fair bit.

From what I heard on the radio he seemed to be up the ground and out of defence a fair bit.

I hope nobody actually thinks that last qtr counts for anything. I don't want see some of our players all of a sudden looking like superstars in junk time. We want to see performance when the game is still there to be won.

Very, very disappointing performance. I actually thought we had a chance tonight.

Chris Johnson perhaps done enough to earn a spot next round?

Absolutely, he ran hard, marked well, tackled strongly and his disposal was pretty good under pressure.

He is definitely proving alot of people wrong with his performances since coming back.

Brisbane beat West Coast at Subiaco last week. What made you think we possibly had a chance, when better Melbourne sides couldn't get a sniff in Brisbane in years?

You can't expect to win games with the side we're fielding at the moment. We're one kid short of a happy meal FFS.

The fact that we made a contest of it and didn't lie down and get done by 100 points, is something to hang our hat on.

West Coast are flying aren't they?

I just want to see a committed team effort. I want to see us win some clerances and put our head over the ball, and dare i say it....play some good team footy. Wasn't much of that going on tonight.

Judd's Groin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sandringham >>>>>> Melbourne

Team footy requires you to have a team. Given that we're currently a side thrown and sticky-taped together, I don't know that you can expect much more. We are basically playing the last 22 fit men we have, and most of them are no good or very very raw.

Those who are no good will be gone shortly, those who are raw, will learn from the experience and be better for it next year.

Gee that pisses me off when players loose there cool eg sylvia just then a davey having a swing

i apoligise to the kid, that was the worst free ever!

lucky you backed that up. him and the other mfc player were getting jabs and elbows, sylvia pushes him away and it gets paid against him??? the free kick count was listed as 16-22. i think it was more like 10-22...

What was with their complete refusal to call 'play on advantage'?

Stuffed us up at least 3 times, when we had the ball nearly inside 50!

i thought CJ did pretty well today...17 disposal, 8 marks, not heaps of game time...his disposal was among our best.

bate got a bit of it but i was dissapointed, he didnt do much that was damaging. and he struggles for pace those first 2-3 metres. brock and bate both need to work hard over summer on their first 3-4 steps. in fact it wouldnt hurt anyone in our team to work on early acceleration. we dont need to be fast, just need a bit of power to break the tag occasionally.

patfull played a fantastic spoiling game for brisbane, and apart from jon brown possibly was their most influencial imo. robbo was our main target, if he was allowed a bit more space he could have had 6-7 today and patfull kept him to 1.3.

Add in Rivers, Bruce, Neitz, Green, Johnstone, Whelan, Pickett, Yze, Bartram, Moloney and Bell and the Demons win by 130 points

I'm not expecting huge things with a bunch of kids, but I'm not going to accept getting pasted like that, and I don't think Riley will either.

Kudos to CJ, good to see him play well and hopefully he plays out the year.

On Bate, deanox you're spot on about his acceleration, he is quite quick when he gets speed up but his acceleration is poor, as is McLean's.

    TRAINING: Monday 11th November 2024

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. Looks like the leadership group is TMac, Viney Chandler and Petty. They look like they have sli

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The first round draft pick at #13 from twelve months ago the strongly built medium forward has had an impressive introduction to AFL football and is expected to spend more midfield moments as his career progresses.
