I'm as excited about this week's game as I've ever been for any final played by this footy club.

We're dead set underdogs after a pretty horenderous run of injuries this year. $9 pffft

We've gone the long way around in the finals and I firmly believe we're going to roll the roos.

I'm 2000kms away from Ikon or Casey, so the "I can't get interested in the Ws because they play at Casey" line doesn't really wash for me.

We are one club and I urge you all that can get there at 3pm on Saturday, get there.

This team deserves a packed stadium and a sea of red and blue willing them over the line.

Please support them.

$15 and a great day out for the family.

I'm begging you all too.

Demon spirit

I know you would be there for sure If you lived in Vic, Brownie <3

Like you, I believe we can beat North. More importantly, Mick and the girls believe so too.

We can do it!!!

The bond between Mick and the girls is like nothing else. They adore him and there’s a mutual respect. Some of these girls have grown up with Mick, and others are just starting on their journey under him.

When he teared up on the final siren it was obvious how proud of them he is. His 100th game as coach and they were not gonna lose that match - not on Kate’s watch.

We can do it again on Saturday. Belief is the key and this team has it in spades.

For what it is worth, a deal has been made with my Carlton supporting brother (of otherwise good character) that if we both make it into the grand final I'll make the trip down to Melbourne for the granny.

Hmm, should it be the grandpa? If the men's game as a granny?

But really, if we make the grand final I'll be trying to get down anyway, of course.

Me again.

I’m probably well and truly annoying most everyone, I’m even annoying myself 😅

Tomorrow is HUGE for our awesome team.

We (cheer squad) will be out in full force tomorrow; loud and proud with a saturation of red and blue. We’ll give our girls a great display of love and support, but…

We need help.

We can’t do it on our own. We need as many supporters there as possible to help us. WE NEED YOU!

Pleeease come to Ikon tomorrow afternoon (sunny and 24 degrees!) and cheer our incredible team on!

Do it for our club! Do it for the pride of the jumper. Do it for a team of hardworking, passionate players who play for your club. Just do it!!!!

SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!

Unfortunately I can’t be there but I’m pretty sure you’ll feel all the positive energy that’ll be flowing down from Port Douglas. Go Demons!

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
