Cold and (very) wet, yet not a puffa to be seen, not even long sleeves!

Please Andy, can you amend the title?

I’m typing in heavy rain so god knows what will come out 😅

I think 'I is i' brings an important philosophical side to the training routine.

Tomorrow's session will focus on transition from half-back and Wittgenstein's early work. It will not be open to the public.

Troop on, Ghosty, every typo is a proud scar!

Speaking of which, did they 'put a fork in the ground under Steven King' as described over a zero hanger?

Ten points for whoever can get a player or coach to do that first.

Liv rehabbing. Tayla’s here but watching from the sidelines. Grace training with the main group, as is Blaithin.

Tackling practice and watching Heater drag Loz Pearce into the ground is something I could watch all day.

Good to catch up with Ghosty, Slarti and Tim at training this morning. Our women were fortunate that the rain stopped for most of the session.

All in good spirits. Goldy absent and Tayla watched on whilst Liv Purcell did her post-ACL rehab work.

Great to see Grace Beasley getting close to a recall - we will need midfield depth going into finals. Blaithin and Maggie Mahony seemed to test well. Even though Georgia Gall is listed as one week, she was moving well today.....maybe a chance to play?

Will be interesting to see if she gets the call up at some stage or if we stick with the status quo. Certainly a welcome option if there are injuries. Tough for a three-game player coming off such a long lay-off, though they've clearly taken a careful approach.

When Georgia's good to go, she's obviously in, but I wonder if we're starting to look a bit tall then.

I remember Grace’s three games being pretty outstanding though. I imagine the plan coming into the season was for Kate to play more forward with a more stacked midfield but injuries to Purcell, Mackin and Beasley have prevented that. If she gets her game ready I suspect she’ll be in.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

It's Game Day and the Demons are back at the MCG and have a massive challenge ahead of them as they take on Premiership contender the Gold Coast Suns. What do you want to see from the Dees today?

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
