If Berry isn't ready to plug and play at Casey, we need to investigate other options as soon as possible. We sent Kyah Farris-White to SBMT at least 12 months too late.

Other options urgently for what role?

Berry is described as a 194cm mobile defender. We're very well stocked there.

They mean other options for places for him to play to get up to vfl speed if required. By KFW wasted time playing at Casey when he needed to be about 6 grades lower.

Being a bit older if he’s fit and competitive after a preseason he should be able to play back pocket and survive. But a back up local club would be wise.

Soon after getting our picks, Cal said something like "watch the Dees try to trade up, they always do".

Yeah my last post was based off snippets along the way like this, past history and the fact we've lost our power mid/forward re Robey. I agree with others it'd be nice to keep two first rounders in this draft though to get in talent now. I've come round to Grjl from others reports but he may be firming to be off the table.

AFL Phantom Draft 2025: Top 10 prospects, first round pro...

Now that the AFL trade period is over, it's time for focus on November's AFL National Draft.

Can guarantee Taylor will drafterpay '27 first rounder into '26 with Tassie coming in based around f/s and academy picks. So the messaging around 4 x 2 first rounders in a row may still align. Maybe Suns f1st comes into play to get up the board.

Otherwise that leaves us in Lindsay territory (who fills a list need for us) and a number of interstate players around that mark. In particular tall forwards who I doubt we'll be into with our list of developing talls. Split or get up the board imo if it's to play out like the link

I think pick trading up to and during this year's draft is going to be very interesting.

We know who currently has 2025 picks but the two other things that are very important are who has highly rated Academy and F/S prospects for 2026 and what range do you think teams will finish in 2026. These two factors will heavily influence the possible movement of future 2026 picks. It's really impossible to predict what might be possible without taking all that into consideration.

There's not a lot of current detail on 2026 prospects AFAIK (yeah Cody Walker is a top prospect), and it's personal speculation where teams might finish.

think port have dougie cochrane as a top 2 pick too

Richmond Next Generation Academy prospect Tanner Armstrong had 25 disposals and seven clearances on GF day in the futures game

Hodge, who has the choice between Brisbane Academy and Hawthorn as a father-son, had 16 touches and a goal in the game as father Luke watched on in the stands.

Aidan McCartney also played he's FS to North but also in the Swans academy (dad works at the giants now)
