PODCAST: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

@binman great discussion, I know itโ€™s not your fortay!

But how would we get Jackson back? We have no 1st rd pick? Will need points for Kalani White.

Unless we can trade a future first rd pick? I just canโ€™t see it happening.

Enjoying the pod and it reflects our emotions and queries right now

Binman โ€ฆ just hearing some more of the pod whilst at lunch โ€ฆ

  • your โ€œWishlistโ€ of getting a Bergman and or a Wanganeen-Milera and or a Ben Long (Suns) is very very remote!

I do agree however that these are the type of players that the Dees need which is probably your point

  • You put up potential players to trade as Rivers or McVee or Trac to get deals done !!! Iโ€™m keeping these guys as I see them all playing a key role ahead

One player to discuss as a possible trade out is Tom Sparrow. Where does he sit? I like him as a player and heโ€™s a great young man and clubman and it would hurt to trade him โ€ฆ but he hasnโ€™t established a position and now seems pegged as a defensive half forward. Is he a midfielder ? Probably not. Where does his future sit?? Itโ€™s ruthless and potentially unpopular but he has value. Tigers might be an option as he has had a good bond with Yze when he was at MFC. @Demonland i might add this to next weeks questions after we whip the crows ๐Ÿคž

McVee will go as other clubs will use him up the field and one day a midfieler, not just a lock down player and as for LJ,it will not happen

Another great pod folks! Even in these somber times for our Club, I always find the pods both balanced and informative. Thank you!

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Nightโ€™s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourneโ€™s memorable premiership triumph.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, weโ€™ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binmanโ€™s Stats Files. Not because it isnโ€™t important; quite the opposite. Itโ€™s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven Kingโ€™s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
