Apart from a raucous soccer match, not much to report since I spent almost the entire session (all 20 minutes of it) with the most delightful gaggle of 14yo schoolgirls. Their energy was electric. Their teacher, Mr Hawkins, said they were hoping to get a selfie with Max. I said leave it to me. They ended up getting selfies with Max, Clarrie, Tracc and Kozzie and several others. Were they excited? You betcha!

The mood was upbeat and positive. No Kev or Wallbanger so likely no decent training report. Soz @Roost it far

Actually, not Soz. The school kids had such an amazing effect on everyone. They were standing a fair way from the tent so I went and brought them over and everyone was smiling, such was their infectious enthusiasm. The players, the coaches, other spectators, everyone.

Did you tell Kosi that we are all waiting over here holding our breath, and we might be dead soon?

I was there Ghosty - we thought you were just blanking us because you were all over the coverage on Monday - maybe Kosi not the only one considering a significant contract?

My report just filed elsewhere - I am sure the administrators can merge them....

I told him I know he’s already signed. He smiled and said “Have I?” Then he laughed. I told him it’s mean to keep everyone waiting. He said, “Nah, it’s all good.”

you are a gem my little sheet rack

A full attendance for the light recovery session today and great to see AMW also present and in good spirits. He mentioned to us that he has been building up his upper body given the significance of his knee injury.

Viney had the glove on his hand and was doing one on one work with a trainer. Oli Sestan also doing particular work, given his slight hamstring strain, which kept him out of the Casey game.

Spargo, Lever, Hore, Melksham, Campbell and Henderson all seemed to be doing only light work and did not join the (gulp) soccer game.

More goal-kicking practice, and Trac - becoming a bit of a theme - was last off the track.

Our general observation was that the results were "mixed".

@Ghostwriter do you know if there is an open training on Saturday in adelaide?

Yeah there’s a captain’s run at Adelaide Oval on Saturday. It’s an open session. We haven’t been told what time it starts but I can post it here when we find out. It’s usually in the early afternoon.

Thanks again Ghostwriter, Harvey Wallbanger and all posters, that was great GW that you were able to arrange for the selfies for the visiting school group.👍😁

Time stamp please 😁

I'm 0-2 in my "this might be a weird question but are you known elsewhere as Ghosty or WCW?"

I am not Ghosty. Ghosty can elaborate on the Ghosty/WCW connection...

What connection? There is no connection. No one knows anything. You can't prove it. I know nothing

Captain’s run tomorrow at Adelaide Oval beginning at 2:15pm. It runs for 30 minutes and there’ll be autograph/selfie opportunities afterwards.

Apparently I was on the giant screen at the ground several times, but I don’t think the footage is included in the replay.

Harvey Wallbanger is not Ghosty/WCW. He knows G/WCW and they’d probably be friends except he brings coffees and pastries for his cohort and not for G/WCW 🤨

95% chance of rain (6-10mm) tomorrow, so best you bring an umbrella.

Significantly better for gameday: 60% chance (0-1mm).

We’ll be located behind the goals at the hill end (Bay 146) so feel free to come and grab a flag or a prop before the match 👍🏽

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
