Hope ooze comes back, only if 100% ready though.

Brown didnt play for Sandy for a reason. he will play on friday night.

I'd say the first 4 playersn in if their are 4 changes to be made are Pickett, Brown, Yze, Whelan.

Dunn, Miller, Buckley and CJ didnt put their hands up for selection.

Newton is a chance because he would directly replace Neitz, but i still dont think they'll start playing him untill we mathematically cant make the finals. I dont mind this, because if Daniher sees him as being a 10 year replacement for Neitz, making him work his butt off for the position could be a clever move. Considernig the type of player Newton is, with his supposed attitude problems, handing him a place in the team on a silver platter could be the worst thing for him in the long run...just something to think about

Clint Bartram - Knee - Indefinite

Jared Rivers - Back - 2 weeks

Brent Moloney - Groin - 1 week

at least they are now being honest about clint. any word what is actually the problem? fwiw i still dont believe rivers or moloney, but at least they are now giving a definitely time frame rather than 1-2 or 2-3...

Will Newton think that if he doesnt get a game this time, that neitz is out, that he wont this year and that it might shatter his confidence?

The Australian on the weekend said RIvers, Moloney and Bartram are all unlikely to play again this year:

Its not a bad article though, dissecting our run-in for the rest of the year, mentioning we dont play any of the Top 4 sides again, and only 1 potential finalist in our next 4 games...

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
