So with that in mind are you telling me that someone from a non-English speaking background lacks credibility?

Nice try at the discrimination angle but I inferred nothing of the sort.

They were your words, I did nothing to twist them, just gave you an example of a plausible reason.

Oh well, you don't have to agree or respect my comments, that is the beauty of this site.

The point I made is that you can stick up for the players (and I have been one of Miller's biggest supporters), but you need to be able to back up your statements. Having a cry because somebody doesn't agree with you is something you should probably stop doing when you reach the age of 6.

And you find me a game where I put Bell in the best when he wasn't deserving of it. As others have said, he has been one of our best and most consistent performers this year.

the collingwood game

i do agree with u tho about his consistancy dont get me wrong...

Rhino Richards, im sorry if i have not completed my 8th degree in english literature. now u wanna talk football or be a smart arse?

i did not attack her , i made a valid point and i think she would even admit her opinion off belly might be a little lob sided...

They were not at all. I made no reference to non English speaking people.

Its that sort of wooden thinking that would make A Current Affair blush.

You completed 7 grades before that!:lol:

You accused her of extreme bias or "biest". There was no evidence of that in her posting.

Now Jarka, which non English speaking country is involved here? ;)

Interesting comment. There are many reasons why someone's grammar may not be up to your standards, perhaps English is his/her second (or even third) language, which may explain their errors. So with that in mind are you telling me that someone from a non-English speaking background lacks credibility?

I'm yet to see any person who has learned English as a second language whose only grammatical symbol is the ellipsis and doesn't use a single capital letter or the full spelling of words because of a misunderstanding of the language.

Comrades.

Well, I will post next and pick up the Moron epithet.

I cannot recall a player at melbourne who has ever evoke such questions about his fundamental ability after six years at the club.

This is a long period of time. I still had some hair back then.

Here is a question: has there been an empirical improvement in his performance as a player in 2004, compared with 2005, compared with 2006, compared with this season? Mmmmmm.

I would be hardpressed to answer in the affirmative. I would suggest he has been, at best, somewhat static.

I do not know how much longer we can afford to underwrite his development as a player, and all on the assumption that one day there will be a categorical moment of arrival.

Hawthorn it seems to be, is the pace-setter at the moment. I wished years ago we had pre-empted their foray into Tasmania. Moreover, they have not hesitated to trade out players who had some currency in order to boost their stock of early selections.

Miller would warrant attention from a range of clubs, Freo being an obvious target for a range of reasons. While I do not mind the idea of Miller as a stopgap FF in lieu of Neitz's absence, I suggest his name should be pencilled in for the trade day at OO. He might also bloom - within the parameters of his own particular talent - in a different dynamic.

Biffinator.

PS, I get [censored] off when people take cheap (and uninspired) shots at Yze Magic. One can question his logic at times, but I can remember those days in the 70s when we didn't even have a cheer squad that could be seen from the other side of the ground. Melbourne was an antonym for passion and commitment and accountability. Hence, I am glad he is on the scene. May there be many like him. We are transforming ourselves away from the private school scrap-heap I remember us to be in the 70s with all those crappy blankets and thermos flasks and the faint hymns of joy when we got within 50 points of Carlton or Collingwood and could then go home and natter about the Cordners (who in themselves have served the club wonderfully). I am glad he contributes as much as what he does, and this place would be much duller if it were not for his postings. All power to him, and perhaps a little circumspection as well at times.

I imagine everyone loved Miller when he had Aggro, and played Crash and Bash, he lost his impact when he toned down that side of his game, If they ? select him again I would tell him to go off, or go home.

Yes, I was wondering when you'd weigh into this debate, although I must admit it took longer than I was expecting, but thankyou for not letting me down.

You said poor grammar doesn't deserve credibility, they're your words.

Well I'm sick of this thread personally.

It has now moved onto subjects far removed from Miller's 6 goal performance, TWO weeks ago.

Time to build a bridge...

(I'll reopen the thread if/when Miller gets selected)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
