RIP Jeff. Watched a lot of his games in the ressies in 1993 when we won the granny. Good, hard, honest back pocket player.

I reckon our depth in 93 was as good as, if not better, than the last couple of years. Solid Premiership team:

No acknowledgement from Melbourne fc. A bit disappointing

Totally agree. Very poor considering he was a (ressies) premiership player and spent 4 seasons at the club

Played with "Joffa" as he was affectionately know together for Rosebud High school. Him at centre half forward and me full forward. Dont remember much other than him banging it over my head and through the sticks all day long. Absolute GUN.

I also have fond memories of him tearing it up at Gunnamatta circa 1988/89.

Last time I saw him he told me he was working alongside plugga assembling trophies in a factory. im sure they had some great yarns.

Lovely bloke, and Im very saddened by the news..

Played against this guy in the 80s. He was the most sublimely gifted junior footballer. When he had the ball the tendency was to just watch him. The fluid rhythm and sturdy balance. He was the missing link between football and surfing. Just a beautiful athlete. The first time I saw him I was 11. Chased him from the back pocket to the wing and couldn't get close - and I was one of the quickest in my team. Whole game he just ran all over the field giving it off to players in better positions, getting it back again, giving it off again. At 11 he already had an unusually robust shape and serious presence. When I heard he died a couple of weeks back, I pictured him in that game down at Dromana, with the sun in his sandy hair, handling the ball like he was born with it in his hands.

I remember thinking he could really star for us after watching him in a practice match at Vic. Park.

He played some really good games for us, but I’d say didn’t reach his full potential.

Very sad.

In memory of Jeff, go out to annihilate Collingwood, Dees!

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
