GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs Fremantle

This is embarrassing now. Losing is fine. I have expected it was coming for a while, we really haven't been that good for a while but this is not a proper loss. We've had no answers and there have been a lot of passengers today. This isn't panic stations obviously but other teams will be looking at our lack of response with interest.

I'm not too filthy. This reminds me a lot of the game against the Giants last year (albeit they have beaten us much more badly).
We've clearly got underdone, gassed and injured players. We had two soft lead in games. The Dockers have been amazingly switched on.
We learn what we can, regroup and come out firing next week.

Unfortunately this is the first top 4 side we’ve played all year and they killed us. So you have to question the result.
Teams have shown that they know how to play us. This is the first side that has been good enough to do it. And they did it convincingly.

been brewing for a few weeks.
havent been out of 2nd/3rd gear, lots of turnovers in the forward half and garbage going inside 50.

finally play a team that can challenge us and we get smacked.

not the end of the world, only finals matter, but they better start improving soon

No mate, we gifted the game from centre clearance. We dominated in the 2nd so what the heck are they doing in the third?

On top of that once Freo caught up with us in the score you have to do something, Goodwin not good enough today

Credit to Freo. They’ve smashed us in every conceivable way. They’re a good team.

This is a wake up call for the players. Yes we’ve got some injured to key players, but the ones out there got smashed in the contest. Bugger all tackles and out worked both ways. Hopefully we get some players back and can reset. We’re still a game clear on top of the ladder and in a great spot.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
